Dean McDonald scored his first goal for Hartlepool United in their 2-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon at Victoria Park. The former Arsenal youngster is currently on loan to the North East side from Ipswich Town however his one month loan deal is set to expire soon.
McDonald joined Pools in the middle of November on a one month deal and at the time Ipswich boss Joe Royle said it was for no longer than that. “It will be a good opportunity for Dean to get a run of games at first-team level. It’s just a month’s loan though and no more than that,†said Royle in the middle of November.
Having now scored his first goal for the club Martin Scott will now have to decide if he wants to extend the current agreement between the two clubs. Pools’ next fixture is against Walsall on Saturday the 17th of December and if Scott wants the youngster to stick around he will have to reach an agreement with Royle. Given that Pools have Joel Porter and Adam Boyd on the sidelines, albeit resuming training, it seems highly likely that Scott will at least try to extend the deal.

I think that Mini Mac has a lot of good skill and pace - although end product might not be his speciality - at the moment!!!
Joe Cole was a very similar player. For years he was performing tricks at West Ham but couldn't achieve alot in the final third - however the past year or so he has matured as a player and gives a whole lot more as a team player.
I believe Mini Mac is a similar type of player and regardless of our opinions of him the only way he will develop is to throw him in at the deep end and give him a run of games!!!
I think we could all agree with that. It means it would either prove Luke right - or Dubz right. We can argue all day whether he is good enough or not - but the proof is in the pudding!!!
Besides he can't do any worse than some of the other sh*te on display currently!!

I heard so many people talking about Mini Mac before he got his
first full appearance for Town. I feel from that we all had great
expectations but they are not ready to come out in the full squad yet.
One good thing hopefully is that he will gain more experience at Hartlepool
and this may enhance his career. Who knows, The proof will be in the
pudding as they say.
