Saw Ozomatli in Camden last Monday and Mogwai at Somerset House on Thursday. Both very different but both good. Ozomatli mix up latin, jazz, hip hop (of the more tuneful variety), reggae, all sorts.... nine piece, very energetic. Superb musicians. End their set by all piling in to the audience and continuing to play their encores from in the crowd. Mogwai worked really well in the setting. In the spectacular courtyard, lots of lights, sky gradually changing colour. Music loud and moody, hypnotic.
If anybody fancies a bit of live action, I have two tickets for Guillemots at Somerset House tomorrow (Sunday 15th - face value £25ea but would pass them on cheaper) and two for Brett Anderson at Union Chapel (Islington, Thursday 19th July - £15 ea) if anybody wants them?
As a mssive Suede fan years ago, I got talked in to giving Brett Anderson a go by a post on this thread from Riv, though I still haven't listened to the album yet. Sorry for spamming
would have checked it was OK with a mod/admin first but there don't seem to be any around!
