That's one loss in 19 or 10 without loss. Any which way you want to look at it, that is f*cking impressive

Fighting through the snow in Birmingham but worth it to learn of todays result. Never envisaged scoring four there never mind the victory. Well done to all involved. Proud to be a supporter of this club this night.

I'm completely thrilled with the result! I thought we'd lose this one. The squad is full of confidence...what a great feeling again! It's been a while and we all deserve it! COYBs!

What another super result coupled with a solid and ruthless performance against what for me were an other very good if not one dimensional footballing side. To get a goal inside 18 seconds was a dream come true but to be three up after half an hour was just incredible, we just took the chances that came our way and punished them.

Murphy is an absolute beast at the moment and probably the Championship player of the season so far, everything he touches turns to gold. I though Brentofrd played some decent stuff around the middle of the park and down the flanks, Jota and Judge are definitley a handfull but we defended stoutly when we had to and got the blocks, tackles and headers in, Bialkowski only had one save of any note in the first half which he spilled but fortunatley a defender was there to boot it clear. The skill and strength Murph showed for his Two goals were excellent and it had the composure of a player at the top of his game. Anderson also got himself on the scoresheet with a close range finish from a very good ball in by Tabb I believe, you had to believe at 3-0 it was pretty much game over, even at that early stage, we also had time to have another disallowed from Tabby.

The second half was far tighter and although not exactly an onslaught Brentford did have a good 15 minute spell where we seemed unable to get hold of the ball, The brentford goal when it did come was a fortuiyous deflection which looped the ball over Bialkowski and into the net but any doubts about us getting mugged late on were soon extinguished as Tommy Smith rammed home the goal of the game with a lovely bit of skill and curling shot into the top corner, that really was game over, Brentford's second just made the scoreline a bit more respectable for them.

Another super show by all the boys but Murphy steals the limelight again, Tommy Smith also had a very good game at the back and topped it off with a screamer, Bishop looked composed and his skill belies his years, while Tabb, Anderson and Skuse worked so hard in the middle. Top of the league for an hour or Two was a great feeling but more importantly it is another game where we have brushed aside a top of the league side and on their own patch at that, we are scoring goals and that expected defeat looks nowhere in sight right now. The fans were superb today and the atmosphere brilliant, the celebrations when the goals went in were a joy to be part of. bring on the Charlton.

What a report thanks Bluemike i could not get to see it,could not find a livestream anywhere. Seen the goals and Murphy really looks the real deal at the moment. I thought the bees would have a couple of goals in them, just never expected us to bang four in. Brillant display and long may it continue.

Sums it up completely.

We were so clinical in the first half and once again during that period looked the real deal in every sense.

Knowing Mick he will still be looking at things we could do better and no doubt won't be too happy that we conceded 2, although as Mike said their first wouldn't have gone in without the deflection. The only disappointment for me today was the performance of McGoldrick who at times just didn't seem to be showing the same commitment as the other players. I thought the work Anderson got through was phenomenal and was so pleased that he got on the score sheet. As for Murphy, well it's geting boring now keep repeating the same thing!

One last thing which just seems to show the ethos of the club now, before the game MM saw some of our disabled fans in the wheelchair section, stepped over the boardings and had a chat with them all, then had his photo taken with them. You might say it made my daughter's day!

Haha! Close eh? Must joke about ITFC results more often...... 1-3 then 0-5..., somewhere in the middle will do! :D

Great win away from home. No more of the "we shall see in a months time" talk....., they must be serious contenders now.

So, JR? Any thoughts on the season so far? Wherrrrrre are ya?

23 points from the last 27 on offer, when you take into account that within those games we have played, Wolves (9th) Watford (6th) Bournemouth (1st) Middlesbrough (4th) and Brentford (5th) it is staggering, we arent doing it against relegation fodder, its quite extrordinary.

I think Murphy's inability to score a hat-trick (fkin useless) let you down in the end, as well as the consolation goals of course.

But seriously, it must be a matter lf time before we someone nets three surely, hasn't been done since Wickham right?

It really is impressive and it can only boost an already sky high confidence in the team. I bloody love this season!

Outstanding performance, and a result to make the National media, other Championship outfits and some closer-to-home doubters accept that we are now the real deal. To think that we feel a bit annoyed at conceding two late goals!

Having now played all C'ship teams, and reached the half-way point in the season, any transfer activity in January's window to strengthen the squad - depth and quality - could prove pivotal in maintaining the momentum for rest of the season. This in no way implies criticsm of the lads we have, or their fantastic achievements so far. No doubt MM and ME will have the conversation!

Just listened to the Brentford fans podcast from after the game and how refreshing it is to hear honest views from rival fans saying things like "The best team to come to Griffin park this season" "The best team in the division" and "Ipswich will probably go up" It makes a change form the usual sour grapes after your team get beaten.

I bet that was a great day out Mike. How many Town fans made the journey?.. Was Hallam there with you, I bet she's on cloud nine.

I think we had just over 1600 fans Andy, all packed behind the goal where Smith got the Fourth, no Hallam could not make this one. The atmosphere was superb, the singing and noise was pretty constant throughout the 90 minutes and the celebrations when the goals went it were wild to say the least. The Brentford fans hardly mustered a murmur the whole game.

Is there such a thing as a (championship) 'manager of the season' accolade or award, like they have with manager of the month ? If so, McCarthy would have to be the leading contender. All due respect to other clubs such as Bournemouth for example whose rise has maybe been more of a story than ourselves, but it's never too much to give Mick plaudits for all that he has achieved here and in such a short time.

Yes I think they do have a manager of the season award, as for Bournemouth and Eddie Howe, as good as they are doing we still have to remember they have had a few quid to spend and are not short of backing in that department, no other team can live with us in the lack of spending department.

I still have to pinch myself to realise this is for real.
We're even getting great write ups now in the independent yesterday and a large spread in the times today.
