Return trains to London tomorrow night

Post by Jamma123 » Tue Jan 13, 2015 6:06 pm

I imagine there must be a fair few of you, not to mention the Southampton fans, who will be heading back to London after tomorrow night's game. I saw a sign at Ipswich Station at the weekend saying that the last trains will not be held in the event that the match goes to extra time and/or penalties. With the last train seemingly scheduled to depart for Liverpool Street at 22.43, this looks to be very tight if indeed penalties are needed... Anyone else having visions of facing an even more nervy shoot-out if we get that far?

Last night's match between West Ham and Everton finished at 10.35pm if that's anything to go by. Included a 20 penalty shoot out.

Hasn't the East Anglian train company said it will make sure all fans will get home after the match if the game goes to extra time & pens, by them putting on a bus service?

Thanks Charnwood. As you said in the match thread, I'm sure we won't be complaining too much if we come out on the right side of a 20-penalty shoot-out...!

(And) That was my other team that was eliminated last night... It never rains but it pours.

Can't remember a game with so many spot kicks to decide since the 1990 Scots Cup Final (Celtic lost, just for good measure) and sure it makes for great entertainment for the neutrals, but hell for a team you actually root for that's a part of it.
