Re: Would you?
I think I would rest ( not drop!) McGoldrick. Would it be useful if he knew he wasn't an automatic choice?
I would like to see Parr and Mings as the full backs, but would probably keep Chambers for his motivation. Obviously Berra has to stay so I'd drop Tommy- he hasn't done much wrong ( with one exception) but Parr and Mings together offer much more going forward.

Have to agree with the above. Chambers is no right back, but has performed ok for most of the season. I think Smith should make way for him in the centre and Parr and Mings as first choice full backs.

Re: Would you?
Good question.
You can't drop your club captain though in my opinion, although Chambo's performances have been average of late, I think he's a big player on the pitch vocally and motivationally and fans love him.
It would be difficult to drop Tommy Smith with the goals he's scored this season and Berra has been solid throughout.
Parr could come in for Bru, but I think MM really likes Bru at the moment.
Sears looks amazing but DM and DM should start. They've been great for us. Sears will be a big impact player I think.
Time will tell...

Re: Would you?
Without trying to sound like a reactionary jumping on the bandwagon type guy, I'd probably have a shuffle around yeah.
Let's remember that we lost to brighton cause we were knackered. It's a ridiculously small squad, it wasn't that long ago we couldn't fill the bench due to shortness of staff. These few days rest should help certainly, but for me, here's what I'd do.
You cannot drop the club captain. I won't allow it. He's done little wrong all season and deserves his place. To be fair, we are in the envious position of having 5 defenders all suitable to be included at the drop of a hat. They all have a claim to make.
Parr and Mings would make us quite powerful on the break. Proper wingbacks I've always liked, so it's them two in. Then, through no fault of his own, I'd put chambers in for smith. Just for me Berra and Chanbers are the better centre pairing.
The rest of the side is up for debate. If fit and with it, Skuse should be in. It's evident how much we miss him sometimes. Bru or Bishop with him. On the wings, meh. I'd like to say Stewart for the pace but he looks a bit lost at times. Has to be Hunt and Tabb/Anderson I guess.
Up front there is certainly a call for McGoldrick to be given some time. He also doesn't look with it, but you can't deny that his vision and involvement creates stuff.
It's up front where we have some questions. McGoldrick for his involvement, Murphy for his goals, Sears for his pace and eagerness to impress and Hunt for his work rate and recent scoring form. That's a difficult choice to make and why I'm not paid the big bucks to call it.

Re: Would you?
Sounds like you've summed that up pretty well there, Don.
I do like McGoldrick. A fitter, and less greedy McGoldrick would definitely see the ITFC goal tally rise. I've counted maybe 8 times from TV games where Murphy has been open, but "Didsy" has chosen to take on one, sometimes two, defenders too many. Eradicate that, and both DM's could be joint championship top goalscorers ! (Yeah, maybe not)
And I always keep quiet about Tommy Smith because I love my balls too much, but I don't rate him. He's good for the odd goal from a corner and not too desparate situations in the box....., but when it's looking dangerous, he's like Delaney...... A flap case. Chambers & Berra certainly do look the more assured pairing.
So I'm in full agreement with your words Don. Now go get your hatrick of high scores in the PL.

Re: Would you?
I do actually think we should leave him out for a game or two, he hasn't been quite right this season and his confidence seems to have dropped, or maybe he's just become complacent and needs the new competition up front to really put his place in the team under threat.

Re: Would you?
Good stuff! Playing Mings and Parr as attacking wing backs suggests a three-at-the back defence, with a five man midfield, and two up front. Mick reverted to it in the second half against S'otton, with some success - it took the pressure off of Chambers who, although has done his best in that role, is not a natural and is probably targeted by opposing teams.
If using this formation, I would go for Skuse (holding), with Bru and Bishop providing more offensive power through the middle. Mings and Parr providing attacking width, but dropping back in when under threat. Up front Murph, with McG, Hunt or Sears. (MM to decide who starts, and who has most ability to be an impact sub)! But McG not necessarily nailed on to start as second striker.
However, sticking with MM's favoured 4-4-2, then I would also have Parr at RB, with Chambo moving back alongside Berra - although he, too, has not always been at the top of his game recently, but gets the nod over TS. Midfield is I think where we are weakest, in terms of attacking flair and creativity, and I honestly don't know what MM's strongest m/f is. Skuse, Bru, Bishop, Anderson? Tabb, Hunt, Stewart, Ambrose also in contention. Up front, as above.
Other options exist - for instance, going 3-4-1-2. With McG playing role of linkng m/f with two strikers - Murph, Sears or Hunt. Unlikely though, knowing MM's traditionalist views! Which, to be fair, have served us pretty well so far! But us doodling away is still a bit of fun, that luckily we will never be called to account for!

Re: Would you?
I think McGoldrick needs a few weeks rest to make sure his doesn't injure that knee again. This would be the perfect time to continue to blood Sears as a starter for us...he appears to be more than capable. I'd also have Ambrose starting in the midfield; he was the best midfielder against Southampton (he even dribbles the ball). I agree you can't drop the captain...it would seem right to drop TS to make way for someone else.
Murphy has also looked a bit knackered in the last couple games. What about benching Murph and starting with N.Hunt and Sears?

Re: Would you?
I would actually go 3-5-2, it suits our Three CB's and it suits our Two full backs who love to bomb forward and certainly have the energy to play that formation without any trouble, we also then have the option of a very powerful Midfield trio who can be rotated when necesarry. Murphy up front is an absoulte certainty as he is the hottest striker in the League (anyone who thinks dropping him is an option needs help) and at the moment I would go with Noel Hunt over Didsy with the latter and Sears coming on if and when required.

Re: Would you?
No , he wouldn't, mate. It's a new rule. Mick can phone Freddie while he's out sofa shopping with the girlfriend, "Freddie! Get your arse to PR, NOW! We need you. Didsy is being a greedy b*stard again. He just ate my half time Kitkat...... ALL 4 fingers of it! Get here asap!"
Come on, Derick......, didn't you know that rule? Keep up, buddy.
