But some of your comments really do baffle me at times.

"I thought Reg was different class when he came on Sunday". Obviously I need to get down to specsavers quickly then as I didn't see it.

Maybe Mick is speaking from a different angle, Shed. Maybe he means he was a different class of Shyte.

If not, book me an appointment too please.

It's just his style of management, offering encouragement and support to his players as opposed to shattering their confidence.

Leaving leading goalscorer Murphy on the bench wouldn't have done much for his confidence either which showed when he poorly struck his penalty kick. In my playing days I could have struck a better penalty than that.

No I agree but my comment was aimed at the original point of the post, what he did with Murphy and sears was bloody stupid, it is alright for him to come out in the press and say he is pissed off at lodsing last night but for me he was instrumental in the defeat, I never have and never will blame anyone for missing a penalty, it happens, Messi did it last week. I blame Mick for the sh*t starting eleven that he put out. We all make mistakes in life, every single one of us but to stand by the line up he selected is a cop out and not his normal style, he takes stubborness to a new level.

It's a mystery sometimes why McCarthy makes what some would see, fundamental errors.

He's no damn novice in the game, got 20 - 25 years of managerial experience, so can't use that as an excuse. I think maybe some managers are tailored to some clubs, and some aren't.

Given enough time, McCarthy may yet again become another example.

And no, (by that) I don't want to see him vacate Portman Road any time soon

I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but who on earth is Reg?

Started life in an even earlier BBC Black and White comedy called the Rag Trade, in about 1756.
Now, sadly, no longer with us - but 'On the Buses' still being shown somewhere on one of Sky's 5 million channels. A social history student's goldmine!

(Still think that MM was referring to Reg Dwight, aka Elton John!) :)

Thank god! Thought I was going mental and forgetting people, but turns out I'm just too young :D
