Wow is it really as long ago as that?? MRs Ramsey still lives in a massive house on Valley Road Ipswich I think.....We're nearly neighbours! :lol:

Ramsey took a big gamble - and brave decision - to leave Greaves out of the World Cup Final but it was a risk that surprisingly paid off. I still think Robson was the better Town manager despite not winning the league, but he took an unfashionable club in Ipswich Town and with the striking efficiencies of say Phillips and Crawford surprised everyone with a league championship win.

Was bold enough to declare the English as 'we will' win the World Cup, rather than 'we could', a statement that came to pass. He was so sure of his abilities.
