He is coming in initially as part of the development squad, no great drama here.

The bit in the article that worries me is he's a central defender, does this mean we're selling one?[/quote]
Maybe Smith on his way, knowing our luck it would be Berra

I'm not knocking the lad but why do we make some of these signings just wasted resources that could be sent on a real quality signing...

That article is just a rehash of everything said over the last couple of months.
Nothing new in it at all - slow news day.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Bit strange bookmakers slashed odds 1/6 for Mings join Bournemouth, but then again we seen with Austin join West Ham betting suspended but news he might in fact join Newcastle instead so dunno what to make of it?
But to sell him to Bournemouth? No disrespect to them but they would not command a fee that say the "bigger" clubs would pay so I will wait and see when more concrete news comes out.

Veseli was even worse! Not their fault your offered a deal gonna take but it's just wasted wages that all add up and a few grand here and there could of swayed a quality player to sign for us.I'm not knocking the lad but why do we make some of these signings just wasted resources that could be spent on a real quality signing...

Stuart Watson twitter.....
BREAKING: Tyrone Mings set to join Bournemouth for 'considerable' fee. Ryan Fraser and Brett Pitman in opposite direction.#afcb #itfc
Mings has gone and Brad Pitman ( striker ) is signing for us as part of the deal, PLUS Ryan Fraser (winger) being loaned to us as well from Bournemouth.
Good Luck Tyrone. Not unhappy with this at all.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
£8m plus for Mings isn't a bad deal at all considering we paid £10k
I don't understand how we can sell cresswell for £3.7m though. Where's the logic?

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
This is great news, in fact the best news for years. 8 million potentially rising to 10 million for Mings, plus the arrival of Brett Pitman who scores goals and Ryan Fraser whio is a very very good prospect and looks the part, I am well happy with this.
Mings faded second half of the last campaign and was instrumental in us losing at scumville, too many lapses for me, Parr at LB, 2 speedy, skillful wingers in Maitland-Niles & Fraser, another Striker in to give us options, it is all coming together nicely. I think we need a RB and creative/goalscoring Midfielder and possibly some LB cover and away we go. All very much dependant on Murphy going nowhere though.

Thanks Tyrone, been a very good player for us and only cost us 10k to begin with. Very pleased with Pitman coming in. Proven Championship player. Murphy, Sears, Pitman, Didzy looking like good options upfront.
Crazy fee considering Everton have just signed Deulofeu, a Spanish international who came up through Barcelona's La Masia for half the price. Now IMO he has potential.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Mings was so over rated. He seemed to think he was Nesta when he is just an okay player. Lazy attitude and I'm pleased he's gone he was getting caught defensively more than Chambo. To get 8 maybe 10 is Crazy money. Bournemouth must have more money than sense!! Parr will smash it!!
As for Pitman and Fraser they are very good at this level. Pitman a fox in the box and Fraser is electric, I remember seeing him and being impressed. I just hope they stay on their feet and don't carry on the diving they learnt at Bournemouth.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Sad to see him go but at 8m rising to 10 million wow
Makes me think should we have took that money for McGoldrick last summer, time will tell.
Sounds like Pitman is to join permanently as a separate deal, scores goals but will he get in the starting line-up? And as part of the Mings deal Fraser is to join on a season-loan, remember him playing down here last season despite getting booed looked very quick and pacey and was like we are crying out for a quick winger so we can hit teams on the break and now looks like we have got one albeit on loan!
But as others have said how the hell is Mings worth more than Cresswell those fees should be the other way round
Good luck to Mings though from non-league to Premier League what a dream for him, imagine he'll get in the starting line-up but will see as remember Leicester splashing like 9m on Kramaric hardly played

Bournemouth just keep managing to find new ways to p*ss me off.
I'm happy enough with the fee and the need to sell for that offer, but f*ck Bournemouth.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
So does this mean Parr will be obvious replacement or will Mick go out bring new full-back or backs in for that matter.
Obvious not all the money be used buy new players if we really wanted promotion you would be can't see half if that used.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Out of interest is this website reliable for their news stories?
Just seems strange that its the only "media site" that is reporting that the "bid" has been rejected , also Tyrone has been very quiet on twitter....mmmm!
On the plus side £8m is a good bit of business for a player that has only cost us initially £10,000. We know Tyrone has the ability to leave players in his wake but his nonchalant lazy style is sure to wind up many a Bournemouth fan.

I've found it as reliable as most sites, but then again none of them get it 100% right, because the HTC website is now reporting that both Bournemouth players have passed medicals today!
