Out of interest is this website reliable for their news stories?
Just seems strange that its the only "media site" that is reporting that the "bid" has been rejected , also Tyrone has been very quiet on twitter....mmmm!
On the plus side £8m is a good bit of business for a player that has only cost us initially £10,000. We know Tyrone has the ability to leave players in his wake but his nonchalant lazy style is sure to wind up many a Bournemouth fan.
I've found it as reliable as most sites, but then again none of them get it 100% right, because the HTC website is now reporting that both Bournemouth players have passed medicals today!
Well that is true lol a lot of them are never 100% right and its all speculation until we hear officially.
Now seen a few reports that it'll be announced tomorrow and we get Pittman on an undisclosed and Frazer on a years loan, as well as the 8 million!

Just noted from the Chippenham Gazette & Herald that Chippenham did not include a sell-on clause to supplement the £10K transfer fee they receivedfrom Town in 2012. Bit of an error on their part - it would be nice to see a bit of extra cash filter down to the lower leagues. I know it's all hard nosed business these days but if it were down to me I would slip them another £90K.

I Can see it now Todd, it'll be like watching the opera swan lake, diving here diving there, we have to try and beat Bournemouth's 15 penalties awarded,

WOW PITMAN ON A FREE TRANSFER
There was me thinking we might have spent a million maybe, fair play to Bournemouth letting him go on a free
So 8m rising 10m in the bank, Fraser on a season-loan and Pitman on a free transfer can't believe it
But still I bet you we won't even spent half of that 8 million on transfers if any.

I'm happy with the 2 players we have got in return for Mings and i'm sure MM will receive some of the 8 Million for additional players, would make sense.

And there was me thinking us at Everton got the best deal this summer with Deulofeu for £4m!!
You've definitely got it with that Mings deal!
Fair play.
Any rumours on who you might spend the money on?

A cracking deal, the icing on the cake is Brett Pitman on a free, that is crazy with a year left on his contract, not to mention the 8 million potentially rising to 10 million with add on's etc. I have read most of the 8 million will be paid up front which again makes a nice change, seems too good to be true.
As I said yesterday I could not be happier with this business, why are some still concerned with how much of the 8 m illion we spend, for me I hope we continue to build and spend nothing, money does not guarantee good signings at all, to get Fraser and Pitman in for zilch is cracking business, with Maitland - Niles arriving Monday for pre season we are putting it together with decent players/ prospects without spending again, admittedly a new RB and CM could cost and that is fine, get those 2 in and we are all but set to go.
The days of us giving players away on the cheap seem to be a thing of the past, if Mings is worth up to 10 Million I dread to think what Bish will be worth in a couple of years time, not to mention Andre Dozzell.

Tyrone Mings had an emotional message for everyone associated with Ipswich Town after completing his big money move to newly-promoted Premier League side AFC Bournemouth – ‘thanks for everything’.
Stuart Watson. Evening Star
CommentsEmailPrint
The 22-year-old arrived at Portman Road from non-league club Chippenham Town in December 2012 for just £10,000. Less than three years later – and with just 43 Championship starts under his belt – he has joined a top-flight club in a deal which could end up being worth as much as £10m.
The initial fee paid by the south coast club is £8m and, contrary to earlier reports, Town will receive the bulk of that up front.
Add-on clauses could see that rise further, while striker Brett Pitman (free transfer) and winger Ryan Fraser (season-long loan) were thrown in as sweeteners.
It’s potentially Town’s biggest ever sale, while Bournemouth have broken their transfer record.
This has to be the best deal Town have done. We have robbed Bournemouth blind in IMHO

What we do know is that he pumps millions into the club each and every season, it doesnt stop purely at new signings.

That was some impressive business transaction. I always expected Mings to move on but didn't see Bournemouth on the radar which comes as a complete surprise. The more I think about it the more it makes sense, at least Mings should get some Premiership game time there, as opposed to some of the bigger clubs where it would have been at best the subs bench and the odd Carling Cup outing. Meanwhile we get Brett, maybe for a small fee and a decent loan signing to with Ryan Fraser.
I hope we've included a sell on clause because I still think Mings has potential to improve further and may still end up at one of the Premier League top clubs especially if he does well at Bournemouth.

Yes we did include a sell on clause, I read it yesterday. Pitman was by all accounts a free which is amazing.

I've just read that last seasons average salary in the Championship has now reached £500k pa.!!!.
The wage bill therefore for a first team squad of 22 players could well be circa £10m, that's serious money to fund a second tier football club.

Exactly Andy, I do wish people would wake up to this fact, just because the guy is rich doesnt mean he can go on willy nilly throwing Millions around, why the hell should he.

For me this is a cracking deal for Town.
Yes we know Mings has loads of potential and know doubt if he does go on and fulfill this some people will still say we let him go too cheaply. The interesting thing for me now will be see how Tyrone copes with the pressure which no doubt will come from being a club record signing. I'm sure Howe will help him with this but there will be a lot of expectation from the Bournemouth fans for him to hit the ground running.
Anyhow, good luck to Tyrone and well done Town on getting a good deal.

If he wants to make money he will probably need to spend money. Deals like mings are like rockin horse poo so to get to the big league he will need open his wallet.

Which is why he is opening his wallet, we were potentially 130 minutes away from the Premier League last season doing it our way, bringing in good players who were free but who in truth should have commanded fees, that is just the way it is, I see nom reason th change when you can bring quality in for nothing, I would be outraged had we wasted 8 million on the likes of Tyrone Mings, it is a crazy gamble by Bournemouth, the only difference is they can afford it.

Mings would of played in the prem with us if we had gone up.
I don't think Bournemouth have gone over the top.
They have a bit of cash so they have made a bit of a gamble...why not I'm sure we would of blubbed if MM didn't take a gamble.
Its his big chance to make the really big time.

Yes he would, which at a cost of 10K would be remarkable, 8 Million is a vastly different kettle of fish and he will be expected to perform every single week for that kind of money, if he keeps popping up with the howlers he did during the second half of last season he will lose his place in the team for sure.
I wish Tyrone well and I hope he cracks it, I still feel it is a season too soon for him just as it was for Conor Wickham but on this occasion I am over the moon for ITFC because we have secured a cracking deal and strengthened the team.

There is very little chance that we will see much of that money spent on transfers. I can't see us changing the way we do business just because we've made a couple of quid on this deal. Most likely outcome is we will slightly increase the wage bill, but like we saw yesterday, free transfers and loans of quality will be the way we work.
McCarthy has demonstrated that he's capable of working well like that.
For the club it's a great bit of business. For Tyrone, it's a good move. Chances are he'll go straight into the side which is better than trying to break into an established team.
Overall, I'm happy with how things have played out so far.
