Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Not being funny but reminds me of another Ryan Stevenson, we need to be aiming higher than this in my opinion if were gonna be challenging for top 6 again. Rather us get a quality premier signing on a season-loan than this (other than Fraser).

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
If we can just keep the squad together and more quality i think the whole team can push onto another level now.

Yeah cause they gonna say that keep fans happy. I recall them saying same thing about the money we got for Wickham and did we spent that all towards new signings no....lucy wrote:Club have said money from Mings transfer will be reinvested into Squad
So take it with a pinch of salt, but will see how much we spend. Even if we do doesn't always guarantee you success I mean look at the millions we spent on Leadbitter, Edwards, Norris, Martin to name a few.

MM has proven what he can do without money so it's about time he's given a chance and let loose

Not sure we want to make it too easy for MM - don't want him to become complacent!lucy wrote:MM has proven what he can do without money so it's about time he's given a chance and let loose

Darren Ambrose will be given the chance to earn a new deal at Ipswich Town, who are expected to complete the season-long loan signing of Arsenal winger Ainsley Maitland-Niles today.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
We have to be careful to understand the term 'reinvested in the squad' IMO.
I would expect that after last seasons roaring success, players like Murphy, Chambers & Scuse (and others) are likely to have triggered a pay rise in their contracts. In addition it looks like we will have a bigger squad this season and we are still a defender short. Won't be much left out of 8 mill after that.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tabby's still a starter. Most of the additions we've gotten so far are of the attacking nature. Plus MM's loyalty to Tabb won't go away easily, IMHO.ashfordblue wrote:What about Ainsley Maitland-Niles the Gunners young winger, there's reports he could be here pretty soon, rumours are we are supposedly tying up the Loan deal this week, and if so we will have one hell of a strike force, and a big choice of who's on he bench,
I just cant see how the likes of Tabb will get a game with all the quality coming in, plus what we have retained.

Presumably we will have the ability to vary the starting line-up to suit the opposition.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Lovely goal against Saints!
He's technically a very gifted player. He has bags of experience. I think his main problem was injury and fitness last season. If fit, he's a very capable squad member IMO - certainly far better than the headless chicken S.Hunt was.
