According to the "rumour" page in the Sun

Derby are after McGoldrick and he's "open to the possibility"

Certainly would explain the recent interest in Le Fondle and Morrisons :-)

If he is fit he is a good goalscorer, but last season was not up to it through injury or whatever reasons. I personally think his heart is no longer with Town, good as he is, get a decent offer in and let him go, providing we can get another in which I have full faith in MM.

And now this on Sky Sports..................................................

Middlesbrough have made a £4million bid for Ipswich forward Daryl Murphy, according to Sky sources.

It is understood Boro are not the only club in negotiations with the player, who scored 27 goals in 45 league games last season.

Ipswich are holding out for a fee of £5m for the 32-year-old Republic of Ireland international.

The Boro are also closing on a deal for to sign Murphy's compatriot Shay Given, who has been released from the final year of his contract by Aston Villa.

The 39-year-old, who spent time on loan at The Riverside in 2014, started for his country in their recent Euro 2016 Qualifier against Scotland after coming out of international retirement.

And the worrying bit is in Blue!

You suspecting what I am suspecting? going to be two strikers down soon.

McG will think the grass is greener and go :-)

Question is, who will we get in?

Dazza I do think Murphy and McGoldrick will be gone now, but I also think MM won't let them go without replacements lined up.

Much to my suprise it looks as Murphy and Mcgoldrick will be leaving, the best thing is Mick has months or at the very least 30+days to bring two new strikers in.
Only a few would believe Murphy could hit the heights of last season, this season.

I'd be surprised if McGoldrick and Murphy do go, to be honest. However, if I'm practical about it...there's Murphy who's getting on a bit, and there's Didsy who's injury prone...hmm. It might not be that bad if either or both left, don't you think???

I would be happy to see McGoldrick go, been a waste of space for a long time now so cash in with what we can get for him in my opinion, Murphy on the other hand would be a blow unless we use some of the 4/5 million on a good replacement, nothing less will appease me i am afraid to say.

You could well be right Mike but i cant see us splashing the cash, either the Mings money or Murphy or Didsy money. I would like to keep them both but nothing stays the same for ever in football. Really hope and pray Mick can pull something special out of the hat. Im trying to stay positive when two of our best strikers could leave to go to our rivals.
On a sidenote how on earth have Derby money to throw around?

While i tend to agree on DMG if it,s a good price , as a closed season to see arguably 2 of our better players (Mings and Murphs - all be that Mings was poor the latter half of the season) and the one player that could lift us if he plays well is just a tad bonkers..as MM might say , as just no way the money will go on replacing them , it will just "go back into the squad...sorry just don't believe that line one bit , not blaming ME here, but still think we are being fed a crock of sh*t on that front with MD,s playing with wording.

i agree with you here! I think it has been said that the transfer revenue will be re invested in the club. not once has it been said that it will be given to MM for new playing staff.

“We received a substantial amount of money for Tyrone and having spoken to [owner] Marcus [Evans] we both realise that it’s important we reinvest that money back into the team,” the Blues MD told the club site.

Keep the Faith .
In MM and TC we trust our club too.
Mick has shown us he can find hidden gems in lower leagues like Tyrone mings £10,000 sold for £ 8 million plus .

Of course he's open to the possibility. The player has wanted to leave this club since Leicester came knocking. That comment by him, just proves the observations I've made of him since he returned to the team last season. He wants away!

LOL, he may have said it but it looks unlikely it is going to happen, as it stands we have only signed Pitman and yorwerth, both for nothing, the other Two are season long loans, I will be a bit disappointed if there aren't a couple of money signings this Summer.

I agree Hallam, he has been nothing short of a joke since the leicester thing, when he did appear he looked laboured and disinterested, I firmly believe he hated the murphy success too, he see's himself as something of the big "I am" and had his nose put firmly out of joint. The truth is we havent had Didsy for a season and a half nbow so losing him would make no difference at all, in fact i would be encouraging Derby to go for it and include a swap for either Chris Martin (highly unlikely) or Johnny Russell (good possibility), with Derby having signed Tom Ince, Andreas Weimann and Darren Bent there will be attacking players surplus to requirements so you just never know.

Sounds like McG needs to grow up and fast if that is the case, I would expect that attitude from a Kid.

Get what we can for him and show him the door, get someone who wants to play for us rather than another sponger, bit like that knobber Chopra.

Guys if McG is known by us to be showing that kind of attitude then what makes you think anyone else would be interested. Don't read too much into the wording of the headlines.

On the football side i thought he looked pretty good when he came on in the play offs and with some more games and a pre-season who knows....... I don't want to see either of them go.

I'm hoping that you have read too much into his absence Hallam, I'd be disappointed if we don't use some out and out wingers this season. Mick likes grafters we know that, just hope some flair, guile, and imaginative players and ideas also get a look in.

Again I may be wrong as I was with Didsy but I don't see Cameron Stewart playing for the ITFC senior team ever again, he clearly lacks what is required to please MM, it was publicly stated by Mick that he had spoken with the player and told him he needed to do more in training etc to even be considered, this is obviously not happening. Mick has spoken highly of Alex Henshall lately in that he has come back from the close season in good shape and is flying so why can't Stewart do the same ?

I agree with hallam that he will be on his way too and with Fraser, Maitland-Niles, Connolly, Henshall and Tabb we are well covered in the wide berths now so his chances are virtually zero.

There is no way Murphy or McGoldrick will go.

However if we could half the 8 mill Leicster offered last year I would sell Didsy.

He must still be worth 8 million if mings price was anything to go by.

It would appear Norwich have now joined the clubs interested in acquiring the services of Daryl Murphy, ....... surely he wouldn't, would he?

I think you are totally wrong with the Murphy thing, without going into detail on here remember what i told you a couple of weeks ago when you thought it was a joke etc, it wasnt, and it looks more likley to be coming true.

As for getting 4 million for Didsy you must be on drugs, we will be lucky to get 2 million, again just my opinion.

He isn't a bad striker to be fair, especially at that kind of price.

I'd like to keep McGoldrick tbh, we're going into a fresh season and he'll be wanting to prove himself again after his injury. I personally don't buy that his head was turned by the Leicester bid, but he did have a really annoying patch where he shot on sight as soon as he got the ball which was frustrating beyond belief. But in the right mindset (which is still pretty common) he is probably our best player. That being said, our forward options are great at the moment so at the right price I wouldn't be against letting him go for a Prem team.

Also, Murphy's going no where.
