Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Starting to get the feeling that Murphy might be moving on. It's one thing being settled with his family but giving up the chance to play in the Prem is unlikely IMO especially at his age. Will be watching with interest as rumours are getting persistent.

2m for Donaldson a 31 year-old seriously is he worth 2m I feel find better player than that surely unless Murphy is moving on?
Not impressed with this one if true.

And yet James, you'd be happy with £4 million for Murphy!

I personally don't buy that his head was turned by the Leicester bid, but he did have a really annoying patch where he shot on sight as soon as he got the ball which was frustrating beyond belief. But in the right mindset (which is still pretty common) he is probably our best player. That being said, our forward options are great at the moment so at the right price I wouldn't be against letting him go for a Prem team.
Also, Murphy's going no where.
I bet you're wrong on that one.

If it's a Prem side, then yeah he's out of here. But the Boro/Sheff Wed rumours don't bother me slightly.bluemike wrote:J4ck22 wrote:I'd like to keep McGoldrick tbh, we're going into a fresh season and he'll be wanting to prove himself again after his injury. Where have I said 4m for Murphy I would be happy with it? My opinion is far the opposite as I previous stated before I would be fuming if we sold Murphy, please see below. And yet James, you'd be happy with £4 million for Murphy!
Yes it would be good money but where can you get another striker replace those goals and his strength and chasing down he makes. I can't see us selling to one of our Championship rivals and making them stronger. Maybe if a Premier League club came in with a higher bid, but for me this would be a massive backwards step by the club selling not just your top scorer but in the Championships last season.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Have to feel great sympathy for Luke - whatever his perceived technical shortcomings, he always gives max effort and has ITFC running through his veins. Hopefully he will recover quickly and be able to resume his career. There were matches last season where I felt we missed his energy and never say die attitude - not substitutes for creativity or pace etc, but at this level much needed qualities.
I find it a tad curious that Luke's injury appears to have prompted MM's to search for a 'seven-figures midfielder.'. I wonder whether the m/f search was actually in progress prior to LH's injury, and whether that person is , indeed, Mr Williams? What is without question, however, is ME's support in allowing MM to strengthen and, hopefully, up the squad's quality threshhold. All in addition to what might or might not happen on the Murphy/McG/Donaldson front. (Personally, I'm still hoping for a quality RB to join - but am not holding my breath!). But, all is good, all is positive.

I am not sure we will sign another RB to be honest, Mm is praising the two kids in Emmanual and Kenlock who are both Full backs while the much rated Kyle Hammond seems to be fit after his serious injury.

Really gutted for Luke though it's good to hear that we could be looking for some real midfield quality and buying someone. Quality not quantity is the key.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Be great to see a home-made lad making it; however, not sure MM would seriously take the risk of throwing in anybody not sufficiently battle-hardened. As well as Cambo has done as an experienced pro, we've nevertheless tended to concede too many goals from crosses into our box from his area. If we want to push on next season, then I believe Chambo should partner Berra, with that specialist RB brought into the squad. However, it does appear to be something of a blind spot for MM - unless, of course, action is in hand below our radar!bluemike wrote:I am not sure we will sign another RB to be honest, Mm is praising the two kids in Emmanual and Kenlock who are both Full backs while the much rated Kyle Hammond seems to be fit after his serious injury.

According to the Sun's "Boss of Goss"
MM is keen on signing 27 year old midfield Aussie ace Rostyn Griffiths from Perth Glory and he's flying in next week for a trial

What I would like to see is a bit of scouting in Holland, they have some great players and a good youth system.
Now if we could get someone like Reuser, Muhren or Thjissen in I would probably wet myself

Seems to be warming up , this rumour that a young Liverpool LB is joining us. It will give competition for Parr anyway.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
You have to love MM
“I’ve even had one club ring up and ask if we would loan him. That was outstanding that!
“He said ‘just give me a one word answer’ because he knew that if he asked for a two word answer what the response would be. I had to think of something else sharp and witty, which I managed.
“It was somewhat ridiculous. Maybe they were winding me up? I don’t know. I don’t think they were.”

Or the fact that he was an overrated pile of sh*te. Scores a few goals, little else to his game.
