A good run out against a pretty average but fit team as their season is in full swing. A different team put out by town in each half but with very similar results.

Emmanuel caught the eye for me 1st half playing at right back. Good going forward, strong and comfortable on the ball. Possibly this season could be his breakthrough season with Mings leaving and Parr playing left back.

Maitland-Niles on the right side of midfield looks quick, very comfortable on the ball, close control and a great asset for the season. Very similar can be said for Fraser who looked electric in the second half with his direct running creating several chances.

Goal of the game was in the first minute from Henshall some smart passing out to Henshall on the left wing and he drifted past 3 or 4 defenders before finishing from about 10 yards.

For the first pre season game we looked sharp, lots of possession, good movement and understanding throughout and would have been 9 or 10 without some decent saves by their keeper. I watched this same fixture 2 years ago and can say without doubt we are streets ahead of where we were. I think we can look forward to another good season based on this.

Thanks for that, always good to hear it from "The horses mouth" so to speak, someone who was actually present. It augers well even if it was tame opposition.

Great to hear from the horses mouth that the team are gearing up for the next season. Though the opposite team were obviously lacking in quality, the main thing is about building match fitness and team confidence. No injuries and better team cohesion is always a good thing.
Goals from several sources is also great, with four first teamers missing things can only get better.
