P's couldn't you get your prison number in the photo Mike? ....

That would make sense seeing as Freedman is there !!!! I am sure I saw Bolton though.

The prison number was too long to fit on such a small pic PMSL.

It was 463p276r567i993c025k

On a lower league rumour webside Hallam as most think football does'nt exsist outside the bloody premiere league.
That said he was immense when they beat us at PR two seasons ago. Kinda dropped off the radar recently but maybe he could do a job.

Do you see him playing in the role of Hyam?

He has the toughness of Hyam but is much more of a threat going forward and can pick a pass.

I certainly do Hallam. Hes an absolute beast and terrified our midfield as i can remeber two seasons ago. Hyam is a light weight version of Rudolph but im not sure he offers much going forward. Feel gutted for Luke as hes one of our own and has been crocked for a while now. Hope hes not cast out on the scrap heap already by Mick.

Even better then, the only downside to Austin is that we could play a few games with 10 men LOL.

Slight concern when looking at MM's comments at not being able to land his transfer targets - which would presumably provide the depth, experience and quality in those areas we all recognise as still needing attention - is that we may end up having to settle for second or third choices simply to achieve a viable squad in terms of numbers. Sounds a bit pessimistic; but of course we don't know who MM has been after, or the reasons why his efforts have so far been unsuccessful. Other clubs seem to have been more successful: Money? (Not suggesting we should jump recklessly on that train, but inevitably it's probably the deciding factor).

I agree it is a slight concern but normally when MM comes out with this type of comment we see someone arrive in the ensuing days so with any luck it is a little bit of a smoke screen.

He's a shrewd operator, no doubt - and hopefully he'll pleasantly surprise us all! I guess the trick is to balance improving squad quality within it's wage structure etc. But if we want to push on, then upping the squad's overall quality is presumably what MM's aiming at. That's all we can ask!

I think we have improved the quality of the squad already, only Mings & Anderson out and Pitman, Maitland-Niles, Fraser, Yorwerth in, add to that McDonnell now eligible to play and Dylan Connolly, Alex Henshall and Josh Emmanuel all pushing through, much stronger in my book.

Is that the Josh Emmanuel and Yorwerth 2 of the 3 youngsters who were in the back four last night, that you said basically why we conceded 2 late goals in a different post. Come on where is your consistency?

Agree, certainly more options now - particularly in the pace/width stakes, and reasons to believe that all those you mention will up our quality threshold. Good so far! The fact that MM has acknowledged that he's seeking to bring in a couple of additions signals that he's aware of where further strengthening is required. Personally, I would hope for a strong, ball-winning/passing central midfielder, and a specialist RB. In an ideal world, a quality GK, since I'm not totally convinced by either Bart or Gerks - although both are well capable of doing a job for us. But, equally important to bring in players who will fit into the squad, and buy-in to MM/ TC's way of doing things.

Derick you are being silly now and you know it, both Emmanuel and Yorwerth are young lads who are learning their trade, both have barely played at this level, they look to be very decent prospects, it is one thing blooding one kid alongside senior pro's but it is quite something else playing virtually a whole back line of raw kids which is what we did, surely even you can accept that.

I am always consistent as far as I am concerned, and I have to say unfortunately so are you but in a different way. I really don't want to start a new season having disagreements with anyone but a sense of perspective here is needed. We started last night with Coke, Toure, Bru, Ambrose on the field, none of which will be first team starters at Brentford, missing were Skuse, Didsy, Bishop, Fraser and Maitland-Niles, all of these will probably have a very good chance of starting, we then finished the game with Yorwerth, Kenlock and Emmanuel in defence, at no point did we play with a recognised starting Eleven, I agree it is not good to lose but does it really represent a true reflection of our ability ? That said I would like to see the real starting Eleven play the whole game saturday and also obtain a good result to set us up for the following week.

I might be wrong but I have a feeling I saw a game with this lad playing and if it is the guy I think it is then yes please, I was very impressed with him.

I'm enjoying the fact that people STILL don't rate us despite making the play-offs last season. I can't wait to prove them all wrong again.

Town Close to Signing Danish Left-Back
Thursday, 30th Jul 2015 22:57

Town are close to completing the signing of Danish international left-back Jonas Knudsen, who is currently with Superliga club Esbjerg fB, his hometown side.

TWTD understands that Knudsen, 22, is one of three targets the Blues are close to adding to their squad, manager Mick McCarthy having revealed that the Blues were making progress on a number of fronts earlier today.

We understand that Town representatives travelled to Denmark to watch Knudsen in action in the last couple of weeks and were evidently impressed.

We understand that the clubs are close to agreeing a deal and the move could be confirmed before the weekend, while Danish newspaper Ekstrabladet is also reporting that the details are aren't far off being finalised.

Despite his youth, Knudsen has already played more than 100 senior matches and has won two full Danish caps. He recently played at the European U21 Championships in the Czech Republic and has also won caps at U18, U19 and U20 levels.

Sounds a very good signing, only 22 but bags of international experience.
