Is this the next 8 Million Pound player signed up by Town ??Josh Emmanuel has spoken of his delight after he signed a two-year professional contract with Town today, with the option of a further 12 month stay.
The right-back will now remain at Portman Road on professional terms until 2017, after impressing boss Mick McCarthy throughout pre-season.
“I’m delighted to sign the contract and it’s up to me to keep working hard going forward now,” the teenager told the official Club website.
“The manager and TC have been great with me and have given me an opportunity in pre-season. I feel part of the squad now but I know I’ve still got a lot of work ahead of me.
“I’m very happy to be signing as this is a family Club and I feel very settled here. I’m looking forward to working hard every day over the next two years now.
“We’ve got a big game against Brentford on Saturday and all the lads are ready to go. Training has been lively this week and I think we are looking good.”
Josh, who joined the Town Academy from West Ham, has featured heavily for the first-team in pre-season and was rewarded by being handed the number 29 shirt for the upcoming season.
The defender also started the final friendly of the summer against FC Utrecht, playing at right-back with Town being held to a 1-1 draw by the Dutch side.

Could well be Mike, especially if he continues to improve at the same rate as he has over the past couple of years.
It's great to see our club developing young players again as there was a time when this was taken as a given.

Wasnt branding silly figures about James, merely asking the question as a point of debate.

Happy with this,we seem to be developing squad players and a handful of first teamers through our youth system. Brillant for everything town related. Kudos to the training staff and all behind the scenes.

One of a few I think, I am very keen to see how Kundai Benyu does as he is very highly thought of and I doubt it will be long before we see young Andre Dozzell moving through the ranks.James Scharmann wrote:I seebluemike wrote:Wasnt branding silly figures about James, merely asking the question as a point of debate.Early days though we seen many youngsters sign pro deals and never get a game.

17 yrs old!!! The kid is already a man mountain, having seen him at the Posh friendly. He is night, powerful, QUICK, strong in his tackling ability and not afraid to get fwd. Surprised he's only got a 20yr deal. The ONLY Thing this kid lacks is experience.
NB.
ooh look scum , here's ANOTHER player from our " cat 2 " Academy making it into the First team. Scum can't hold a candle to our development of young players "history" !
