McGoldrick Has Some Hearts To Win Over
I have not seen many positive comments in here about McGoldrick lately.
From being God's gift a couple of seasons ago his star has faded to the point that some have questioned whether we really need him at all. Yes, he has been dogged by injuries, but his demeanour has suggested that his head was turned by the speculation involving Leicester and that somewhat ludicrous bid which eventually came to nothing. Having seen him a few times outside the players entrance, he certainly thinks he is God's gift (although he is not alone) and we can only hope he will now knuckle down and win back some of those who have fallen out of love with him.

If he scores on a regular basis, he'll be loved again!

Did expect him to depart during the close season. Yes he's got to redeem himself to a certain extent but expecting Sears and Murphy to be the main source for goals this season. Pittman was a good signing but could take a while to settle in.

Well he was top notch tonight , all over the pitch to get the ball , some great touches and good link play with Pitman , really think he could be a great in the AMF role.

Yes, praise where it's due - he was outstanding last night, and the slightly withdrawn role seemed to fit like a glove. Hopefully more of the same to come - providing he's on the pitch! Producing a fully fit, committed and consistent Didsy is the challenge to both MM and the player himself.

He's got to win me over again I'm afraid.....I'm not convinced about his fitness just yet and I'm waiting to see if he's still has his selfish streak in him!

Stuart Watson tweeted that he didn't think McG would play Sat! MM giving Pitman a chance perhaps?

Pitman deserves a start but then again how can you drop Sears or Murphy..........hard one as as they are all deserving a place.

Re: McGoldrick Has Some Hearts To Win Over
Hi all only my second post.
He is clearly our most talented player and I think all the fans want to see him do well.
He has a big part to play this season and if he stays fit will get a good run in the team at some point. However he will find it hard if the others stay fit.
The problem for McGoldrick now is we now actually have some flair out wide to feed the strikers, if we didn't have that then I am sure he would already be a regular.

Re: McGoldrick Has Some Hearts To Win Over
Welcome Ando, I have been very critical over the last year regarding Didsy, in fact at times he has pissed me off big time, I really did think we had seen the last of him here. However like you I have always maintained that he is probably the most naturally gifted player at the club and a fully fit Didsy is a real asset.
While Murphy & Sears have done little wrong, and yes I expect them two to start today, one small slip by Sears and Didsy will be back in the starting line up, for me that is certain, the move on Tuesday night between Pitts, Didsy and fraser that led to the winning goal was sublime football no matter who the opposition and that kind of link up play will cause all teams big problems. We have great options in the squad now.

Read MM's comments on TWTD regarding McG - would suggest he's telling it as it is. Don't be surprised if he doesn't start today in that slightly withdrawn role??

It seems as if he's made a good start, especially with the contract extension.

Yes, a fully fit, firing on all four hob rings, (or 5 if you have that Wok ring) and fully committed McGoldrick can only be very good for Ipswich Town.
Although that thread title fking sucks. Mods......, start clamping down on these things, FFS.

There's nothing else in Edinburgh worth winning over, is there?marko69 wrote:Yes, a fully fit, firing on all four hob rings, (or 5 if you have that Wok ring) and fully committed McGoldrick can only be very good for Ipswich Town.

Re: McGoldrick Has Some Hearts To Win Over
Well I wouldn't intentionally force the Cabbage on anyone, whether they are worth it or not, but of course there other things worth winning over......, Edinburgh City, Edinburgh United, Spartans etc etc.
Changing "win" to "spew" in the thread title would make it more readable. "Didsy" would definitely agree.
