Home nation fun.

Post by marko69 » Tue Oct 06, 2015 9:55 am

Hope the thread police don't strap me down and whip me......., although I might enjoy that. I vote Hallam to carry that task out. :D

Hope it doesn't get moved to games.... Wanted to generate interest in the boring, crappy international week in the main forum area. Ten games, two for each of the home nations....., predict the scores, 5 points for correct score, 3 points for correct outcome, 0 points for being Shyte. Copy and paste and have a go. Come on, Bluemike...... You know you can't resist it, "champ"!

I'll go first:

Rep of Ireland v Germany 0-3
Scotland v Poland 1-1
Northern Ireland v Greece 2-0
England v Estonia 5-0
Bosnia v Wales 1-1
Gibraltar v Scotland 1-4
Poland v Rep of Ireland 2-0
Finland v Northern Ireland 2-1
Lithuania v England 1-4
Wales v Andorra 6-0

In the event of a draw, predict the combined amount of goals Gareth Bale and Wayne Rooney will score in both their games. Closest gets the title.

My Combined: 8 goals.

The winner wins absolutely feck all......, but they can have the knowledge that they are closet international football fans.

I predict Shed on Tour wins this........, that international fitbaw geek! :D

Could little about the international scene and of the games listed only Germany / Poland / Irish provides any tangible interest. The others are in so many words, boring immaterial fixtures and it's a damn shame when instead of all this, we could be involved in another domestic game i.e. something more relevant. Lo and behold the English get more outstanding opposition and would be no surprise if subsequent fixtures are Jersey, Guernsey, Sark, Alderney, an inflatable off the French coast etc. Yes these games are f**king irritating.

One reason being there's always the risk that one of our players could get injured or go on the inactive roster while on international call-up and miss subsequent league action. Whatever they achieve at international level will be of little benefit to Ipswich Town Football Club so would want them here and contributing to something (once again) that's of far more relevance.

Edit why are Gibraltar playing the Scots, that should be an English opposition ?

Incidentally, honest to God true story, that "appalling" teacher was decapitated in a road traffic accident. Which was so ironic because she was ALWAYS losing the head in class.

Not that it helps, but it was never a freekick in the first place. Hopefully the ref was carefully escorted from the premises.
