Was 90 minutes plus NINE at the Hibs game today, J4CK........, how, I have no idea!

Said a draw would be decent........, but the manner of that draw wasn't decent at all. Certainly not for the travelling fans. Was delighted for Lucy, Hallam & Mike that it was going to be a great journey back......., then, nope. Not to be.

May be wrong, but looking at the figures from the game, looked like they played not too bad. Was this the case......., was it a better all round performance?
Yeah I'd have definitely taken the draw beforehand, those kind of endings always feel twice as bad, especially when there wasn't any logic in it anyway!

Doesn't matter if it was 7 minutes.

I would rather be in our position than Forest's at 90 mins. Deal with stuff.

Good performance and positives to take away.

However, there seems to be something psychological with us in defending in injury time?

There seemed little stress leading up to 90 mins. We have won a few in injury time.... but we seem to leak more than other teams in injury time.... Or we're frantically defending and we're seriously relieved when that whistle goes.

As far as time is concerned, it's one of the only sports where the actual game time isn't available for the fans to see. They hold up a board with a number on it at the end and you have to accept that that is the time added due to other stoppages. Why, in this day and age, they can't have an out of play stop clock available is beyond me. Everyone will have a differing opinion on this but playing to a clock that ends on 90 minutes (but taking into account the stoppages) would be much better. And I feel it'd be psychologically better for the players too.

And YES, they DO need to defend until the end, but , for me, I see it as a massive disadvantage to a team defending a lead when a board goes up with X amount of minutes on it. And likewise, I see it as a huge advantage to the attacking team.

Remember it was a debate back in 2009 when I joined and people were mixed over it. You can't get a faster game than Aussie Rules and they use the out of play/stoppage clock, and it works great. No issues.

Just had a look at the highlights. Nice goal by Parr.

And Gerken? Looks like he had a not bad game considering Mendes De Graça was on fire, But FFS! He was scared or everything in the Reading game, but decides to be a hero in the 94th minute when 1-0 up....... The defender would've cleared it........ And if he didn't, Gerken himself and 3 others would've been on the fkn goal line.

For me, Gerkens fault.

Just home and OMG so disappointed to lose a late late goal for the second successive season at Forest. I said beforehand I woiuld be pleased with a point as I expected us to get something today, and while it was a fair result you can't help but feel disappointed to lose a goal so late.

We actually started pretty well and for the opening 20 minutes my spirits were lifted as Forest looked even more fragile than we have lately, only problem is once again we were creating nothing in front of goal. I couldn't help but be pleased when Parr had to come on for Knudsen although i hope it isnt too serious. As the half wore on Forest came more into the game and we reached the interval level thanks in no small part to Gerken making 2 or 3 very good saves, one of which was a cracker. Kevin Bru had been by far the best outfield player.

Forest started the 2nd half on the front foot without causing us too many serious problems, finally we started to work their keeper and it was his turn to pull off Two good saves to prevent us from going ahead. The goal when it did come was a lovely finish by Jonny Parr who sent his effort into the top corner right in front of us fans, I had forgotten what those kind of celebrations were like. We had chances to finish the game but a couple of near misses were to prove costly, none more so than Didsy's effort which should have been buried instead of being sent high and wide over the bar. When the board came up for Six minutes oif stoppage time everyone was pretty stunned as to where this time had come from and you kinda got the feeling it was going to end in tears yet again and so it proved. Gerken came for the punch and got to it despite Berra standing right in front of him, unfortunately it fell nicely for them and from the second effort they got their goal, so hard on Gerks and no doubt he will get stick despite his saves earlier in the game, had the strikers not fluffed their lines we would have been home and dry so I hope it isnt another session of slagging off our keeper who for me was not at fault anyway.

Overall a draw was the right result and while we still lack in many areas it was no doubt an improvement on recent efforts and there were one or two Green shoots of recovery, still a fair way to go though. Sometimes you just need a bounce or two to go your way and at present that isnt happening for us but it will come. Kevin Bru was my MOTM today closely followed by Gerken while Johnny Parr did ok too. We have our Five game winning run now coming up so we should see a better picture come the end of November, COYB'S.

Only got the score a short time ago and on paper alone it's a result of some merit, but the all too often defensive lapse at the very end has resulted in further dropped points today.

Haven't read a match report, haven't looked in on say TWTD for a post-game analysis, so going to reserve further judgment until being able to ascertain the full extent of what occurred out there. Is there sufficient room to berate McCarthy further in light of what some may deem an unsatisfactory end ? Reason for disappointment for sure but fact remains came within moments of a commendable result at one of the more recognized teams this league can offer.

Gerkin was outstanding today. Town would have been 3-0 down by HT had he not produced save after save to deny an inform Forest front line who constantly out paced our pedestrian back four.

Parrs goal was a peach. Bru's class evident. And Diddy also good on the ball. However instead of berating Gerkin for the goal. The easy way out. Perhaps fans in general need to look to the "leagues best strike force" for at least THREE clear chances in 2nd half to put the game to bed, but blasted wide, high, or into side betting when it would have easier to have slammed it in the net!

Apologies for my post further up......., you were at the game, I saw three minutes worth of highlights. I berated Gerken. In my own defence, I did say he looked quite good today. Agreed that the strikers need to start finding the net......, but I just can't figure out why Gerken wanted to punch that ball when Berra was there to clear. And YES, had it have been a goal, people would've said why DIDNT Gerken come for it etc etc etc f**king etc......., just very frustrating. For me, for that goal alone, Gerken is at fault.

No worries marko  ... tbh was just waiting for us to c*ck it up. Forest 2nd half didnt really put us under huge pressure. We did that to ourselves by not finishing the game off, and for not keeping hold of the ball up front over the final minutes.

Quite a debate going on on twtd and naturally its ALL Gerkins fault!

I know we started with an attack minded team at Forest yet still we could not score enough goals to secure a win..We need to start scoring more goals. Our defence is all over the shop. With players coming back from injury I think we,ll start grabbing some good results soon.

Gerks made a world class save in the first half and at the end of the day it's campions football. Yes we should have won but people make mistakes.. But a draw was a fair result. We should have been 2-0 up. It was a decent performance and if we'd have equalised in the 95th minute we'd have felt it was fair too.

Much much better Ipswich. Let's go again.

Gerken should rightly be praised for keeping ITFC in the game, Ive now saw a few more of the saves and they were top drawer.

But I think there are three reasons why the Forest goal is Gerkens fault....., 1/ He didn't need to go for the ball as Berra was clearly on hand to clear it, 2/ if you make a decision to punch, punch it well clear of the 18 yard box, and 3/ ok he understandably fell after the punch, but he took an age to get back up, BUT I don't know, maybe it was wet.
I think, perhaps, the punch was due to overconfidence after having a decent game.

I'd like to know how the defence played? It looked on limited view that Forest were very good going forward, which in turn would tell me the defence played very well.

Week after week people berate Gerken for not commanding his area and coming out to gather or punch the ball, today he did that and more and is still in the wrong, it was not his fault and how can anyone say he didnt call for it and Berra got in the way ??? For the second week running McGoldrick fucks up with a simple miss that costs us a win and not a thing is said. Oh the joys of being a goalkeeper.

To say it's a bitter pill to swallow is an understatement. Remember how badly gutted I was when leaving City Ground last year. Fourth time in my 7 visits when feeling really gobsmacked.
1. Today
2. Last year and 93rd minute
3. The game in the fog when we conceded 10 mins from time albeit we played bravely with 9 men
4. 2-3 defeat in Jewell's first full season while we had been leading 2-1 five minutes from time.

To be honest though we didn't deserve to win.

Yes, I would have taken the draw before the game as our confidence was shot to bits lately. However Forest team was beset by suspensions and injuries and it was clearly visible how average or poor they were throughout. They tried though as much as they could and hats off to them. That's why it's hard to take positives for me from todays game. I don't know how other people have seen it but given how Forest missed their a few key players we should have taken our opportunity and grab an elusive win.
Still though the man who has saved us today was ... Dean Gerken. Much maligned by many for what happened in injury time but he was the reason why we didn't have to chase the game. Had not it been for him we would have lost to ordinary Forest side. He made three great saves in the first half in which we made no shots on target. We couldn't have moaned if we had been losing.
We were promising in the first 15 minutes. Plenty of movement. But nothing in terms of chances and nothing really afterwards for the rest of 1st half.
Hardly any positives.

Must have been a good half time talk as we finally made a shot on target at the beginning of second half. Even two actually but still there was more activity from the Forest team. They were devoid of quality however their fans couldn't question their desire and ambitions. Plenty of corners for them in the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half. Couldn't see a real improvement from us in comparison to previous away games. Kevin Bru was the exception though. By far our best player today.

5 minutes after Parr's goal Didsy had an excellent chance to put the game to bed however simple shot on target from 20 yards with open space around was too difficult for him.

Didn't like that Micks decision to replace Sears with Malarczyk. That meant sitting back deeply and big stress until the end. It didn't pay off. Gerken's bad decision was pivotal to what happened couple of seconds afterwards. Yet another sickener at City Ground.

As I've said Gerken kept us in the game in the first half as we didn't look good. To be honest it's really annoying to see so many people harassing him. Always a scapegoat. Him and Douglas whereas others get away with poor performances or mistakes. Chambers for example. Always loved despite the fact he's had a poor 2015.

Bru can't be dropped by Mick next week. Gonna be crime if Mick does so. Very lively, never seemed tired today. And what is really worth mentioning his deliveries from corners are quite dangerous.

Parr without a doubt better full-back than both Knudsen and Chambers.

As for Chambers the only good thing he did today was to keep Joniesta quiet for the most of the game. Otherwise he was driving me mad as every time we were going forward he'd slow down our attempts, he'd kill the momentum, he'd allow opposition defenders to come back and regroup.

Maitland-Niles....... poor mans Danny Haynes? Such a promising start to this season but nothing special at this moment. Lacks the killer pass, unable to shoot.

Disappointed with our strikers today. Sears did a lot of running but no real threat. Nor was Murphy. Expected more from Didsy but still want him to start our games.

Even though I have felt really down following Forest's equaliser our win would have been undeserved. Disappointed really. When I had seen our line-up I got a bit of optimism. Unfortunately we aren't as good as some people deem us.

Perhaps I'm being a bit nasty now but I was glad and relieved to see that Giles Coke and Laursen Toure weren't in the line-up. Both terrible waste of wages as they don't offer any quality.

From personal point of view this is hard to take as I've never seen us winning at Nottingham. People may be saying we may have stopped to rot today but speaking frankly we aren't improving.

I think if Berra had been anywhere else, he would've been in the wrong place and not marking his man, and hence being useless! Looks to me that Berra was in the correct position, (with the attacker it was crossed too) to deal with that ball.

Interesting that Trotter, who only joined the club on loan yesterday, had not trained with the NF squad, or played much at Bolton, was a candidate for MOM? Dominated their midfield and quality shone out in an otherwise mediocre team.

Rather than turn inwards and bemoan their lot, the lads need to turn yesterday's anger/disappointment/frustration into a positive - bring on Cardiff and Bolton! :)

Yesterday was only the second or third Forest v Town game I've missed since moving to Nottingham in the early 90s, and following the game on Sky Sports yesterday I thought I was missing a rare Town win and felt quite envious of not being there after so many disappointments.

Absolutely gutted when that goal went in especially after so many games elsewhere had already finished. What was it 95th minute and probably the last goal scored anywhere

Mick McCarthy eluded to the fact that the ball shouldn't have been allowed to get out of the corner and crossed back into our box, I know it would have been the opposite end to where our fans were, but what/who exactly was he getting at.

Oh Mike, you do make me laugh.
Your eternal optimism, however misguided, does you credit I have to say.
You keep banging on about our '5 game winning run' coming up. Perhaps you would like to tell us all which 5 games you are referring to, because I sure as hell cannot see a winning run in the offing even if we were to have 5 consecutive games against League 2 opposition.
The next Five of course Rossi, keep the faith LOL.
You seriously think we'll beat Cardiff? And Wolves?

Exactly that, he did exactly what fans have been complaining he doesn't do and it just unfortunately didn't work this time for the poor guy. Must be hard being singled out for every little thing...
I think every keeper on the planet know they will always be in the line of fire. It's always been the case. Even Gianluca Buffon makes Italian back page headlines every three or four weeks for making a massive c*nt of a situation. Then all the good stuff he's done Is forgotten. It happens.
Dean Gerken will no doubt be used to it. And if he isn't, he better get used to it. Especially if he's going to have (on average) one fking howling decision a game.

And the strikers are a different conversation altogether. You just can't marry them together, unless of course it's to have a hissy fit about the treatment Gerken is receiving. If the strikers are missing barn doors from two yards, start a f**king thread about how useless they are. Don't mix it in with Gerkens mistake. It makes no f**king sense.

Believe or not Andy he was reffering to the fact we had the ball in the corner down in Forest's box and somehow contrived to let them break away the length of the field when we appeared to be in total control of holding the ball.

Yeah I do TBH, we have a super record against Cardiff and Wolves are as bad as us right now.

I think the point being made Marko is that for fans to keep on and on berating Gerken is tiresome, stupid, innacurate, unfair, whatever the term is and that other players are equally as culpable but just because they are "who they are" they get away with it regardless of how often they f*ck up.
