I would like to add my thoughts for Marton's family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time. A terrific 'keeper but, more importantly, a life cut short far too early.

This is unbelievable news. So, so sad. Reality check for everyone when this type of thing happens. Far too young. Thoughts are with his family at this seriously difficult time. Thoughts also with Tamas Priskin as both he and Marton were very good friends.
RIP Marton Fulop.

Very sad news. A great keeper. Somehow it always seems worse when they are not only young, but also will have looked after themselves physically to the be the great sportsman he was.

Thinking back he was in goal the night we beat Arsenal 1-0 in the League Cup Semi-Final at Portman Road.

Not meaning to hijack this post but my darling wife Alison fell down the stairs in October and never opened her eyes again.
We cremated her on 27/10/15.
I am a broken man but must carry on.
Look after the ones you love and appreciate them at every possible opportunity.
We had been together for 30 years and had our silver wedding in August.
I never even had the chance to say goodbye.

Re: Marton Fulop
I'm at a complete loss as to what to say.
It would be fair to say that Marton and I were friends. Not the closest, but friends none the less. We are the same age, have a similar interest in things and would talk about anything not just football.
Even through everything he's had to suffer recently, he would still ask me how I was. How my daughter was. Anything but worry about himself. Such a selfless guy. The last time we spoke he was still hoping to one day play again.
I'm truly gutted and unable to take this in.
Sleep well buddy. I'll miss you greatly.

Bloody hell Peter, I am so sorry to hear this too, I can't begin to imagine how you are feeling right now buddy. These two different scenarios show us only too well how short life can be and you have to live it to the full while you can as you just never know what is around the corner. Maybe next time we lose a game we all need a dose of perspective.bluepeter wrote:RIP Marton.Ando wrote:Sad, sad news. Life can be so cruel.![]()

My God. Peter, your post just hit me like a train. Cannot believe this, talk about smack in the face, feel so sad for his family and everyone who knew him. This is no age and really knocks you back and puts everything into perspective.
My sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

Absolutely shocked to read about this and echo all what's been written. I'm lost for words to add anything more other than to offer condolences to all his family & friends.

Re: Marton Fulop
Anyone use "timehop" or "Facebook memories"? Just don't.
Today's offering for me was a 2 year old message from Marton saying the operation had gone well and he was hoping to start playing again soon.
Such a shame

Already gave a mention on TWTD a day or two back but once again, was sorry to learn of Marton's passing. Taken at such a young age, and with the majority of his life ahead of him. Take this opportunity once more to offer condolences to Mr Fulop's immediate family at this difficult time. His friends and loved ones.
I was very sorry to learn of Blue Peter's news also. Only a PM away if you need to talk, may have something to share.
