Re: Look who,s in the bottom 3 now
Is this the team that beat us over two games on route back to the EPL, not only that, they've had the upper hand over us for as long as many can remember.
Point being, at least they're a premier league outfit right now - something we have failed to accomplish in 12 or 13 years. They've been involved at the top level much more than ourselves in recent years, - and even if they have a relegation by May - at least they were involved once again.
The whole time we can't even get out of this damn league
Got no love lost for the team in question, (although any animosity for them has reduced over time, there's not the same level of abhorrence there once was), it's maybe can't see the humor in this like some others.

Exactly what I was thinking, Saint Jude. It'd be like me laughing at the Jambofuckers getting beat by Aberdeen yesterday. Makes no f**king sense. They are in a league above.
I laughed along at the Norwich relegation to League One, but mocking a team that brushed aside ITFC with ease, and subsequently hammered Boro in the final,......, just not seeing it.

Not sure that was the case Marko, but for the sending off which definitely changed the game as we had had the advantage first half but anyway I do take your point.marko69 wrote:Exactly what I was thinking, Saint Jude. I bet if you told norwich fans they would be just 1 point off Chelsea after 16 games they would have been delighted!

Yes, the day Mick played 3rd choice keeper, Christophe Berra.bluemike wrote:but for the sending off

Maybe the words "with ease" were wrong choice.
I'm with many of you, hoping ex Hamilton Accies player/manager, Alex Neil fails miserably, ...., but I'm not seeing the hilarious side of it. For the record, I think they'll survive. He'll pull out a few wins from somewhere. After watching Aston Villa, they must be favourites for the drop.

Oh I think it's very entertaining to see the enemy struggle. I hope they get relegated! Even with their successes over the last decade, they'll never match what we've accomplished historically. Alex Neil seems like bit of a Wanker to me. As far as them 'brushing us aside' they should do with all the bloody money Delia's gobbed into the club. It won't be long before blue rises above yellow again. COYB!!!

Scum may have had the edge over us in the derby games for the last 5-6 years, but such us our dominance, they are still lagging behind us in overall bagging rights regarding wins.
Scum have need ITFC to go into Administration and the loss of TWO quality squads as a result, to get anywhere near us, regarding bragging rights, yet they are still a perenial yo-yo Club and have won, essentiallg, NOTHING despite Delia's healthier bank account.
They needed Town to go down to 10 men before they showed up in the PO...they need Boro to be totally put on the back foot by arriving at Wembley just 20mins before ko, to give them a leg up in the 1st half of the final.
If they get relegated AGAIN, I seriously doubt they will hang onto their better players again this time round.

Both sets of supporters realize (although some from their fanbase may deny it) that Town is the far bigger club. Norwich may have a realistic chance of being FA Cup winners (to match our honor) one day in the future, but as for being champions of England, or a European trophy (such as we have), it's not going to happen.
May have given them some words of support, but think they're more to be pitied than anything else. You're right about dropping from the EPL to lower league as they do, they're one of a number of clubs that achieve this regular i.e. no real chance of ever being successful, just one year of top status soccer, a fall into the lower divisions the next etc.
Bragging rights will only amount to local derbies, they can't - and never can - come close to actual club history achievements.

What if Chelski, Villa and Newcastle all come down? I think that'd be yet another season in the championship for ITFC. Its worrying. Long way to go though.

Re: Look who,s in the bottom 3 now
More likely any three from Villa, Sunderland, Swansea & Norwich.
I can't really see it going beyond these four at the moment, but as we all know football is a funny old game, I mean whoever would have thought Leicester City would have avoided relegation this time last year?

IF Chelsea were to be relegated and it's a possibility how many of their stars would stay .
The Champions league could be their downfall come the end of the season.

Re: Look who,s in the bottom 3 now
It's unlikely to happen but would be mighty fine if Chelsea had a relegation.
Don't like them in truth and IF they were to drop out of the EPL (once again unlikely) I'd warrant a large section of their support would simply f*ck off and lose interest. Bet they've gained a significant number of extra support since that Russian tycoon came along and pumped in all the money to take them from an average team into where they've been in recent years.
Only around since 1988 they were a second division team with mediocre players and winning the Zenith Data Systems Trophy (look it up kids), and would have no pity if they were to fall down a league. (Even better if Ambramovich or whoever he is leaves also with his cash injections and compounds the situation)

Re: Look who,s in the bottom 3 now
I think it's more likely they'll have a clear out of the "bad apples" in January with Abramovich throwing even more money at the problem and allowing Mourinho to spend freely to bring in more resources and more talent.
He could do far worse than raid Leicester of Vardy & Mahrez......
But they would cost a fortune at the moment.
