This is a damn fine score
Ok didn't get to see what went on there but can't wait to read the match reports on this. Never envisaged a victory today but they have done something of merit and made this supporter proud.
Never know what to expect in this damn league.

They have a number of players injured. We have most of our relevant injured back. They remind me of us last season. We have a great chance now to kick on with fraser, varney, hyam and bru all back and raring to go. COYB

I don't know what Brighton's regular home crowd is but today there were nearly 28,000 in attendance and if reports were true than we took 2,000 of our own. Going to be a pleasant journey back for our support.Shed on tour wrote:Fantastic result Town. So pleased for the fans who made the journey as well.
This reminds me of the Watford game from last season, not quite the same level of euphoria maybe but to go to one of the automatic promotion challengers and best teams this league can offer and come away with (what seems) a deserved victory - it is a great score for all involved at the club.
Play-offs safe for a game or so also so a little room to maneuver in the top six right now.

Excellent tactical match management by MM; some excellent individual performances (Skuse and Sears) but an OUTSTANDING team performance. Congratulations to all involved, and much to be positive about for Burnley on Saturday. Hoofball anyone?!

Yes - well said. The 27,689 attendance was Brighton's biggest of the season so far, and the 1,700 away fans will certainly have enjoyed themselves!saint jude wrote:I don't know what Brighton's regular home crowd is but today there were nearly 28,000 in attendance and if reports were true than we took 2,000 of our own. Without getting too carried away, why can't we chase down those top two places on the back of this tremendous run?

Onwards and upwards!

Re: Brighton & Hove Albion v Ipswich Town preview & match thread
An enjoyable game. Was great to be in the boisterous town support and a great result from the lads.
Certainly a game of two halves: first half Town looked the real deal with Fraser and Sears threatening and town keeping their shape, stamping their authority on the game; second half, most of the action was away from the away support in the south stand as Brighton piled on the pressure. But they never really looked like making the breakthrough and Gerken and Berra had big games at the back for Town.
One to savour. MM's tactics spot on.

Just back from another fantastic away day and I am on such a high right now !! 5 away wins on the bounce is fantastic achievement by the management and players and over the 90 minutes I thought we deserved it. MM got it spot on tonight with his team selection and formations. The returning Fraser and Bru both had very good first halfs with Bru hitting the woodwork twice !!! Sears also had a decent half while Gerken pulled off a stunning save from close range, thankfully the striker was offside when he tucked the rebound away.
The second half saw us defending a lot more but we stood firm and dealt with most things fairly comfortably, Zamora hitting the bar was the closest they came, in fact our whole defensive unit did a great job from start to finish with Berra and Smith rock solid. Skusey and Douglas did their stuff well in the centre of the field too and that man Murphy coming up with the crucial winner.
Another fantastic result thanks to a solid team effort from everyone, we have a little gap between ourselves and the chasing pack now so hopefully we can build on it. We have also dispelled the myth that we can't beat the top teams, that's Two of them we have defeated now. A very big well done to our fantastic away support, it was a privilege to be there. Now for Burnley, let's go break the record, I can't wait for another away day thriller. COYB'S

just got back from Philippines, and was able to listen to the last 30 mins of commentary last night.
Great result.
Seems we have done more than OK since I have been away, and I'm really pleased that I am back now when we have so much to play for.
Shades of last season too - in that whilst I was away over November/December we put a decent run together. Hoping we can keep things going now.

Perhaps we should all club together so you can go away somewhere for the rest of the season!

Hope you enjoyed your time in the Philippines.

Records show the first game on that name leaving on vacation was a 5 - 2 win at Rotherham, followed by a home draw with Wolverhampton, a victory at Charlton Athletic, a home loss to Middlesbrough, wins at Milton Keynes and Fulham respectively, a home loss to Derby County, a home win over Queens Park Rangers, and to end it all, yesterdays victory at Brighton Hove Albion.
Can't subscribe to any one name being absent from the forum improving results also - as we have obtained a greater number of points this season (21) - when the name in question has actually been participating.
