I am 66 years old and was taken to my first game at Portman Road when I was 5 or 6: for some reason Aldershot come to mind as the opposition. Some sixty years later I am still and ardent fan although I no longer attend all home games. Those I miss I listen to and I have always looked forward to reading your post-match reports.

If you go back in time we'll remember Phantom / The Lift, who more often than not was berating the team and manager and never missed an opportunity to castigate the team when things were not going well. Memory serves that you two didn't always see eye to eye also so what we have here is perhaps something along the same line.

One last word in Rusher's defense, I believe he possesses a genuine interest in the club and wants to see the team succeed, it's only he's maybe one of the more negative among us and is quick to offer opinion when things aren't going well. There's been a number of different names on the forum over the years that have brought ambiguity to club loyalties but willing to allow people the benefit of the doubt.

Guess people see troll behavior in one form or another. I think the key words are tolerance, perspective, and defense. It's not the first instance, it won't be the last.

Ashford I'd never ever say anything like: 'those who travel away are the real Town fans'. I have no idea where he takes it from. I have never ever said anything like that. How on earth could he say that?

The word 'scum' wasn't appropriate from. My apologies for that but I was really angry and disgusted. Blatant lies from him and it was painful for me.

Me and BB have had different opinions about Mick McCarthy but lies aren't what we need when people debate over this or that.

Been reading posts on this site for last couple of weeks with no reply. Sometimes it baffles me why we just cannot disagree but talk about it. Nobody should feel like they have to agree on every single subject or topic.

Name calling i just don't understand or agree with. When a thread gets to this maybe all should step back, count to ten then rethink. Most on here all want same thing. The very best for Ipswich Town for are we not supporters of this football club? (Apart from one or two)

Been really hard few weeks for myself. Made me stand back and realize there is far more in life than football. 14th February Jo's father died of Mesothelioma (Asbestos related Lung Cancer) Funeral Wednesday, now Jo is a Norwich City fan but saying this she is one of the most friendly caring people i ever met. She can banter, she can talk about football seriously or laugh and joke but she no longer gives this site time of day for she was was ousted and verbally abused because she supports NCFC. Fine its an Ipswich Town website or is it???

Look at yourselves, good people put money and effort into this site. Somewhere where we can talk, give our views, disagree, laugh and cheer or moan and groan when appropriate. For me if i really have a problem with an individual i send them a private message and try sorting it that way not go public and rant. Sorry just my thoughts

There's being "no holds barred" when posting, but there are members on every forum on the planet that I call the "eggshells"......., you just cannot say what you think because it'll be "WHOAAAA, YE THINK SO YA FKN BLAH BLAH BLAH......."

I suppose it's all about realising that and posting accordingly. Or it's a borderline "Troll" thing and just post what you want in the knowledge that it'll p*ss some people off. I think it's having a balance of both. I just posted about Liverpool being the only legendary club from Merseyside. I didn't have to write that but I want to wind Saint Jude up, but I KNOW, he'll not take that too seriously. Well, I think I'm on ignore, so fk it......., Everton SUCK!

The BB/MPB thing was a genuine misunderstanding in my opinion. Something about the words "real" and "true"......., which in my opinion mean the very similar. I understand the "possible" dig, but the response was IMO, way OTT. These things happen to make the place a better place though. People can't reflect on stuff if Fk all ever happens.

Barmys dead pan humour is needed on here. Mpb's match reports are needed on here.

Well I can honesly say Ive never given Jo any abuse.

I now she's a norwich city fan and I have no issues with ncfc fans who want actually talk about football. The problem I have is when they pretend to be Town fans on here ( and there have been many), who then persist in trolling this forum, offering nothing constructive and basically taking the p*ss out of Town and our fans.

Jo has never done that and has been very open that she is a Norwich fan. Good for her, she's probably enjoying her football at present. I have 3-4 norwich fans who I know personally and speak to face to face. I have no issue with them , and yes we have the usual rivalry banter. Thats totally different to crap that the trolls posts on here. Agai Jo never did that. So I for one would be happy if she posted on here again and we talked football, and had the banter .

Finally and much more imrotant that any football, Im sorry for her recent loss . RIP

Just to go back to Jo, she has actually met quite a few posters on here. Some still post though others not so much. Dave (Loud and Proud) for example, Earl Blue, Even forget some of the older names like guy from Torquay. Can be passionate about football and our own teams who through thick and thin support without the name bashing. Yes some deserve it by just taunting, loving to cause trouble, always the same.
