Feeny & Pringle
At the end of the season are these two going to look at our style of 'football' and say sod this I won't even try for a deal?
Both are capable of actually playing football and to not have the chance to sign them will only put us even further behind other teams that are improving!

Yeah that's what I meant when I said MM should be careful benching quality players. Obviously they won't want to stick around if they think they're not wanted.

Was a perfect game to start both; Rotherham @ home.
Someone start a "Luke Hyam?" thread and let me, and others who can't attend, listen to some opinions.

Re: Feeny & Pringle
He was p*ss poor Marko, often is. At least Skuse can actually control a ball and defend the back four, I am not sure what Hyam offers apart from some fierce tackles that often lead to cards, he is very average in my book. To add salt into the wound I was out on the twon last night and saw Murphy, Skuse, Smith, Bishop and Hyam in a club, the first Four were more than happy to exchange words and handshakes with people etc, a friend I was with saw Hyam literally push someone's hand away when it was offered to him to shake, only a minor thing perhaps but even so he needs to remember who pays his wages and as much as they like a night out this attention does come with the territory.marko69 wrote:Was a perfect game to start both; Rotherham @ home.

Re: Feeny & Pringle
Feeney's only been involved one game so hard to make proper judgments and as for the other, a few appearances and has done well with it. Obviously so much is dependant on where the club goes from here until end of season. (Not to mention the times they get to actually play and are properly utilized)bluejacko wrote:At the end of the season are these two going to look at our style of 'football' and say sod this I won't even try for a deal?

If the team continues as it is in the weeks ahead and acquires a mid-table finish then there will be a certain level of doubt whereas an improvement or indeed play-off objective will make both names consider further participation.
If Feeney is as good as the hype I've read surrounding his (loan) move over, we got a name that could really make a difference regards a permanent capture, but once again, he won't ideally want to remain among a side devoid of ideas or ambition finding itself distanced from actual promotion contenders.

Re: Feeny & Pringle
I see what you did there! ^ . Apologies for my own hisser on the other thread. I'm now beginning to wonder if MM is trying to p*ss the people of Ipswich off. Has he been getting parking tickets or something?
"Another tit Parkin ticket? Fk it, Hyam is tit on this week!"
People like Number 9, Derick, myself etc etc, have no clue what to think....... All the attending fans opinions are f**king different!

Well if Pringle was that pissed off he would not have been in favour of extending the loan, he could have gone back to Fulham or even somewhere else.

Re: Feeny & Pringle
I wouldn't take any notice of the large majority of Town fans. I remember hearing all last season how we weren't gonna make the play offs, blah blah blah, low and behold we did. I also remember at the start of this season most complaining that we looked mid table at best and would'nt challenge top six, well even if it has gone wrong the last week or Two we are still at least challenging. So if they told me I was White I would struggle to believe most of them.

Can't blame fans for performances.
The same arguments have been going on all season, not just the last couple of weeks. Micks just got burnt last game because he went a step too far or another defensive midfielder too far. Mick won't try that again next game, but he's still likely to have two defensive midfielders there.
Being within touching distance of the play-offs may not be the barometer of where the club is. I would happily sacrifice the play-offs this year to bring in a better playing style and freshen up the team with an eye to next year.
What I can see is same 6 or 7 untouchables playing through the season and starting next year.

Re: Feeny & Pringle
It was more than 'some' fans...there were many fans touting young Jack as the next Academy star. In fact, Bluemike was one of them. I think our youth system is over-rated...no disrespect to Kluggy. We have obviously had success in the past, but not lately. (Please don't say Hyam)jaykay wrote:yes ,some fans said jack marriott got a BIG future at ipswich town![]()

Re: Feeny & Pringle
the problem is ( and I've alread alluded to in a post) the style of football played by the the Academy is passing football. Unlike the kick and rush that Mick demands. These talented youngsters would feel totally out of place in the senior team. There is no common thread if football ethos through the Club.

That's a valid point, but if they're that good of a passing team...they should be doing better in their respective leagues.hallamblue wrote:the problem is ( and I've alread alluded to in a post) the style of football played by the the Academy is passing football. You are right Tang, I am indeed Blue and always will be
Number9, you too are correct in as much as I was one who thought young Jack marriott had a very promising career ahead of him, on the very few occasions I saw him I very much liked what I saw, sometimes it happens for these kids and sometimes it goes wrong. he still has time to play at a better level, i suspect it is very much up to him.

Fkn sack everyone if ANY of that ^^^ is true. They must be reading from the same hymn sheet somewhere along the line. And Mick must take some interest in what's going on in the development area.hallamblue wrote:the problem is ( and I've alread alluded to in a post) the style of football played by the the Academy is passing football.
