Spot on, Barmy Billy. I think there needs to be a balance of both.

Let's face it, I'm hearing Charnwood and its great what's happening at Leicester Shitty, but "clappers" "rattles" or whatever the fk the fans are doing are not the reason they are 7 points clear in a multi million quid league. YES, the fans help, but those same fans would be telling the Thai's to shove their clappers up their oriental arseholes if the club was rock bottom.

It's a team that's clicked and a manager who's running the show very well that's prompted the fans to be more vocal. There must be a balance of both. And there is masses of luck involved when there is a lack of funds available. "A hope" that something clicks into place.

NOT SAYING STOP SUPPORTING YOUR CLUB, but at least remember that they have a responsibility as well. Maybe MPB is correct, maybe it's all down to Mevans. If the club is now being compared to Leicester, then it's Mevans fault. 100%.

Listen I am as proud as anyone about our past and our history, I was privilleged enough to see the glory years, all I was wanting to do was pick up on a very valid point which was the reason for the thread in the first place, that is all.

And Billy I was not directing at you or anyone else specifically, it is a view of mine and a generalisation of how our supporters have gone these days, sad but true.

Three points tonight and all will be well with the world.

Actually, we need a p*ss-head motivator at half-time like the one up the road a few seasons ago. What was her name?

Time to kick this one into the long grass, and concentrate on supporting the boys tonight. Far more positive and productive (hopefully!)

Maybe ME can flyover the stadium and drop flags and clappers...and then parachute down to the field with blue and white smoke blasting out of his boots! "LET'S BE HAVIN YA!"

Here's your 12th man, Mike LOL!

I dislike her too, in fact so much so she makes me really like our Marcus Evans.

I'm not sure what point she was making cos I couldn't bare to listen to that bloody squeaky voice.

bluemike wrote:The point was made at the beginning of the thread that fans can make a difference, the down memory lane rubbish came into it afterwards. That is exactly what is wrong with ITFC fans, they live in the bloody past year after year, yes lets be proud of our history but for christ sake let it go once in a while, this bunch of players never have been and never will be close to being what we had back in the day but it is not their fault believe it or not.

For what it is worth I am not keen on a large number of our so called fans, and yes I do believe a lot of the issues we currently have at Portman Road can be directed in the fans direction as much as the players. We now have the first real blip under MM and the knives are out, it is ridiculous to be honest, Mick is the best manager we can hope to attract and by some distance, all these names we keep seeing on list of possible replacements are either not viable or bloody hopeless, none of them would do the job he has done wioth the same spending budget, none of them.

Prior to the game at Wolves I had a conversation with Mach in the pub regarding our fans and he hit the nail on the head, I won't repeat what was said for fear of upsetting the more fragile and sensitive among us but suffice to say his views more than mirror mine. Our fans seem hell bent on ripping up the stability that after years of dross we finally have at our club, we have made massive stride with f*ck all to spend, have issues with ME by all means but Mick is a massive asset to us and to lose him would put us backwards not forwards. Thankfully I am pretty certain MM will be here for a good while yet and when he proves all the doubters wrong I will love rubbing it in. People need to take a look at the league table, of the teams above us ONLY Sheff Wed have improved and passed us by and that is with massive spending, all the other clubs have not long been in the Prem and have mega bucks to p*ss away, like it or not but it is a fact at this moment in time that we are the best of the rest, 4 or 5 measly points off some of these big spending teams, so yes I get the angst towards ME but no way do I accept the crap being aimed at MM. Careful what you wish for people.
I agree 100% with this. It's been a funny season really. We're not that far off where we were last year but it's being seen as some kind of massive failure and that we're a really bad team but that doesn't really make much sense to me and for some strange reason it feels like we're back to the bottom of the league with Paul Jewell in charge.

The last couple of home games I've been to were just poor, not just in terms of footballing quality, but in quality of fan support and atmosphere. It was hostile from the start and fans were very quick to pile on the back of anyone who dared touch the ball. It was just depressing. We obviously lack confidence in front of our own fans which sounds so messed up, but we don't help the problem at all and are pretty much adding further unnecessary pressure because we're 'a bit bored'. It is frustrating I admit, Rotherham was a very poor performance but maybe if we actually did our part as fans rather than verbally terrorising our own players, it might make a difference.

Have some patience for the love of god. This is a crucial part of the season, yet so many have already written it off. Sack Mick and you'll delay that progress even further, because I dread to imagine who would realistically replace him.
