Definitely consistent, Earl. Consistently in the 2nd tier of English football.
Come on, guys......, the 17K on a Tuesday night against Charlton is pretty decent. The 30K attendances are a thing of the past for ITFC, and the 65K attendances at Easter Road are so far in the past, dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
Health & Safety and admission prices going up by 400% in recent years are the main reasons. I was expecting 15K at best last night at PR.

Thank God the long drawn out "will we won't we" has finished...... we won't. Now we can try and play spoiler by tying or beating Derby, or Sheffield Wednesday. Next season may bring a new manager and get rid of some marginal players.

However I do read most match comments and the one thing that I always pick up
on in my mind is the word consitency..
Are we or are we not consitant..
In truth we are always consitant in one thing.. which is..
Everytime we are in a position to move forwards, we fail, be it a high position, we drop,
a game in hand we lose, the team above us loses, we lose etc etc..
aaaargh Its been happening for years... Nothing has changed.

This is so true. You should post more.

I see what you're saying but still believe we can get something out of this season. Yes the generalization is the season is beyond us but until it's a mathematical impossibility we can't finish top six, going to keep faith in the team and in the hope we can be involved again like last years finish.

I on the other hand look at things a bit differently.
We are 7 points plus goal difference behind, so effectively we need to make up 8 points in 6 games. Of the teams we are chasing, Sheff Wed are on a good winning streak and seem to have upped their game at the right time, and Derby have so much class that I do not think they will fall away as they did last season. We, on the other hand, havn't even scored for over 300 minutes.
So even though it's mathematically possible, I do not think we have a cats chance in hell of making the play-offs: and that is not being negative and faithless, it is being realistic.

We've struggled against Rotherham and Charlton FFS! How in the hell are we gonna make the play offs??? Mathematically possible whatever...
MM's comments in recent articles have really been grinding on me. He keeps referring to his bloody CV and points to the two teams he's gotten promoted...what f**king years ago now! What about the fans who spend their hard earned money to go see their beloved ITFC? They work their arses off all week and just want to be entertained by the team they support. What if they told their bosses, "Sorry I f*cked up that job boss, but remember I did perform well for you 10 years ago!", "Sorry I lost that contract boss, but remember I did get that big one 10 years ago." How does everyone think that would go down? I think we all know what would happen to them.

Thing is McCarthy does have an impressive resume and got teams a promotion but it's not working here. Even before Keane was appointed (at this club) believe he took Sunderland from the championship league to the EPL but what works at one club side won't function at another. One line of thought here is that : as with most aspects of life, things become outdated or even obselete after so much time, maybe McCarthy is such another example i.e. he's outserved his usefulness and now could be the time to step down or take time away from the game. Obviously we can't see into the future and potential continued endeavors, but so long as he's Town manager there will always be a certain level of doubt, particularly the way things are headed.
Once more on the top six issue, we realize the team has underperformed and let many down in recent weeks but it's not as if we're so far detached from a play-off finish that some can dismiss it out of hand. We got teams such as Middlesbrough and Derby to play before the end of campaign and they'll at least have their own objectives and on the day, anything will occur.
All the team needs do is keep the ball on field level more often, attacking players realizing their potential, and that edge of (good) fortune where you find it : it may just be enough in the end to make a difference.
