Re: Maitland-Niles
LMAO!! Nice one, Jules. "You go, girl!"
But MICK........, grow up. It's hardly the lads fault is it.
Not trying to be controversial or anything, but this is worse than his "tactics". Mick the f*ck OUT on the strength of this alone. Be diplomatic and get it sorted Mick.
Arsehole.

Re: Maitland-Niles
Regrettably, for some, we can't chose our parents! Believe Jules has previous form at Arsenal's training ground, so at least she's consistent - albeit seriously misguided in trying to protect her lad's best interests. Interesting post-match comment from MM on Tuesday when quizzed about supporters giving JD a tough time. Responding, he said that whilst JD is big enough and ugly to cope with the flack, AM-N was far more sensitive and needed a very different approach.
I suspect, therefore, MM's main priority to protect the lad from all negative influences - including an over-emotional Mum - rather than risk any lasting damage to his confidence and self-belief. MM will handle it properly.
(Understand she starts in midfield tomorrow!)

Re: Maitland-Niles
Is that ^^ true, or a theory? If true...... Ainsley better grow a pair if he wants to continue in professional football. Especially if he wants to play for the Gunners........, the "stick" will multiply tenfold at the Emirates compared to SoFuck.
On a side note, I'd gamble that JD will take the abuse on the chin and move on. Strikes me as the type to "up" his game to prove people wrong. Certainly has the ability.
For the record, saw AMN three times. All three times thought he was a bit lightweight. Needs to be more Oxlaide Chamberlain; hard as nails.

Re: Maitland-Niles
I can't believe anyone would actually believe that MM would drop AMN because of a so called message from his mum. Get real FFS. As Quasar says, it is the Sun after all so must be true.

When/if AMN has been around the Gooners first team, and played as many matches as AOC, then he'll be battle hardened. But he's a long way from that being work in progress. Playing in the Cship should help him to mature and grow that extra layer of skin needed to survive, which is presumably partly why AV allowed him to come on a season's loan. Don't think his mother's rant had any impact upon MM's judgement about the lad's developing talent. But he would assess his overall mental resilience, given performance levels to date, play-off pressures etc, and assess what was in everyone's best interests in terms of fitness to play. His post-match comments really confirmed that. Be interesting to see whether he plays any part tomorrow.
As for JD, he's here for a further year - so things can only get better for him. Hopefully!

Re: Maitland-Niles
According to Sunday Mirror early editions, Mick McCarthy has went into hiding. Not because of the result, or having to address the fans......., but because he subbed Maitland-Niles @ HT.
Quite right, Mick......., stay hiding, buddy.
