Brillant win and to end on a high at high fliers Derby. No hoofball and youngsters in the team cant be all bad. Delighted Mick is giving the younger players a chance and trying to play on the ground.
Narridge coming back down was also a great bit of news.
I hoped we would win but feared a defeat.
Brillant by the bluearmy again and in fine voice so a few positives for the next season.

The club MUST reconsider Piotr Malarcyzk again. Check out his wiki page. He's had zero games for Southend United but has scored 17 goals. Now, I may be wrong, but that's f**king genius.

Very busy weekend for me after the game therefore very delayed report.

This game has shown what we've been missing this season. That's a movement from central midfield. Bishop's run that led to the penalty. I've been personally crying for things like that. That's why I've always been hating Skuse - Hyam combo as with that in the team we are no threat for an opposition.

That Bishops run and his active involvement today + McGoldrick absorbing their defenders was a difference in comparison to many games this season. They both may have failed to produce things like that for full 90 minutes but I can easily say that they were our brightest points today. Let's imagine them two fit + Fraser, what might have been then? Many 'ifs' or 'what might have been'.

Derby given whole that pile of money they spent ought to have been all over us and their forthcoming play-off games aren't an excuse.

We were a bit lucky yesterday to be honest as Derby still have had more shots on target. Bialkowski made at least three outstanding saves whereas in the second half Derby could only have blamed themselves for their indolence. Martin having headed wide or Russell shooting over the bar were the real chances.

We had offered more in the first half while practically nothing in the 2nd one except couple of quick counter attacks. However we were nicely organised and it was the Derbys players job to break us down as they are allegedly worth millions.

Both youngsters in Kenlock and McDonnell didn't do too badly. The latter seemed quite assured however easily outmuscled by Ince when he was trying to surge forward. McDonnell certainly needs a time to grow up this league.

Freddie Sears was a disappointment today but his body language may have suggested he's plainly fed up with playing on the wing.

Hoofball report for those who regularly moan about it: we didn't play hoofball yesterday.

So 6th last season with very little money spent and 7th this time around despite having spent only a little dab of Mings' money (on Knudsen). The lack of investment from Evans + them three (McGoldrick, Bishop, Fraser) having been injured is the reason why narrowly missed out on the top 6. The moaners will say we have a lot to thank to Bialkowski but history books won't be mentioning his merit. It'll be saying we have finished 7th and Mick ought to be judged on that.

Loads of moaners have been very quick to slate and abuse Mick for boring football and abject home performances against Rotherham, Charlton, Brentford and Fulham. Are they quick to praise Mick and team for the away games though? Our last months away schedule was very tough, the defeats were widely expected but we came off unbeaten.

I've been neither pro or anti-Mick lately. Mick has really annoyed me with his fear against Rotherham, with his team selection and set-up against them but he's the man who has the last laugh today. He can say to us : 'we have finished just outside the top 6 despite big difficulties I have had'.

Boring football? What about David Wagner at Huddersfield? Where did his sexy and passing football take them to? Embarrassed yesterday by Brentford too. What about our ' candidates ' ? Robinson, Mowbray, Poyet? No-one will make a better job than Mick at current circumstances.

Part of myself will have left IPro Stadium disappointed as I won't see Town in the Premier League next season. Detest being such long time in this poxy Championship league.

However I'm extremely proud to love and support ITFC and wouldn't swap it for the world. Watched the game with Bluemike and met up with a few people too, nice chat. In general our support was quite good given the meaningless character of the game.

Nice post, MPB; nice content, and nice paragraphing! Always easy to read. :D

For me, no matter how well Mick and Terry could get the team playing, let's hope the "moaners" stick around. I'd cancel my membership for this place if the moaners fkd off. My man tits would fall off out of sheer boredom.

It's probably a good thing we didn't make the playoffs. it would have been prolonging something that we knew was a lost cause. I don't think we could have competed with the teams that are there. I think Brighton may be the dark horses in the playoffs. Who do you think will be the 3rd team.

Watership, my money is firmly on Derby County to be promoted as third team, with Brighton being the possible stumbling block. Derby v B&HA final.

Having said that ^^^ ......, have you seen my prediction efforts recently? If I were you, I'd go on Betfair right now and get yer mortgage on a Hull Tigers V Bank holiday Wednesday final.

But we did compete with the teams that are in the play offs, we won at Brighton, we drew at Derby & Sheff Wed, we even drew at Boro and took Four points off Burnley who won the league. It was against the bloody Rotherhams, Charltons and Bristol Citys of this world that we failed to cope with that cost us.
