Was just reading through various threads and looking for relevant response, then discovered this had been included also.

First and foremost : largest spenders in the premier league ? How the f*ck does that worth out ? Either Manchester City have fallen from fourth place last I looked and somehow found themselves in the bottom three, or this is an (obligatory) ridicule of Norwich and any misfortune that may come their way.

This is only going over old territory (and maybe I don't possess the same level of animosity or fascination with them regards other sections of our support) but all to easy to overlook that they've been of EPL status since last August - beating Town along the way in order to do so - and have added another season of top level "football" to their stats report in recent years, while at the same time we've been stuck in the same league year after year, with little to no expectation of ever getting out.

Maybe in years past this could have generated a more significant reaction but all I got for them these days is pity above all else. Pity in that, they're simply a small unrecognized club side that can never be as successful as ourselves and the names they have assembled in their history are merely a joke compared to our own. Add to that, They've been up and down from top level to second tier and beyond so many times in the last 30 years it feels nothing more than a movie of the week scenario.

Furthermore you'd expect a great many of their support would have imagined a relegation at start of season, so what's occurred may come as small surprise to many. Take no pleasure in saying it but they'll most likely take six points off us next season, and our recent record against them is, in so many words, "unsatisfactory"

Small team who's most recognizable figure is an obscure Cook, and with a list of achievements you could fit on the back of a postage stamp. Say again, got pity for them, but another relegation has generated little above indifference (for) this occasion.

It will be interesting to see if they lose any players. Stoke are rumoured to be after Redmond and I wonder how many will be wanting to jump ship now.

Might need to get Sky TV/ Bt sports back for these two fixtures.

That's Lambo and now Neil who have relegated the Canaries. Get an Englishman, Norwich......, we Scots don't like ye!

Mixed feelings on this one. Delighted they are Down, could´nt be happier. But im expecting them to take six points off us NeXT season, especially if they can keep their "stars". With the promise of going up again or at the very least play offs I would fear they will hang on to what is essentially a premier League squad.

But thats the point PB, they havent got a premier league quality squad. They are a strong Championship outfit - and so they should be spending the levels of bucks they have. But they are incapable of pushing on once they get promoted. Even Leicester, Swansea, Palace and WBA manage to compete better since they all got promoted. Nodge always struggle once they go up and rarely get to be established in mid table.

They will, IMO, find the Championship a different place to one they last left, due largely to the number of other relegated clubs all sporting hefty parachute money and are more likely to attract the better players than the backwater norfolk outfit.

Next seasons clubs likely to pack a punch are.
Only one of the top 6 PO hopefuls will get promoted so most ofbthem will still be in CC.

Hull
Brighton
Derby
Sheffield Wed
Cardiff
Newcastle
Villa
Town

I agree with you there, Phily. As much as I'd like to jump on the blue and white pedestal to ridicule the scum downfall, I fear with the addition of parachute money they'll be a force to be reckoned with.

Plus all the other clubs above who will also have the parachute money. As each seson goes by mire clu s relegated will have the advantage of the bank balance.. in the end mostbteams in this division will have money making it a more even playing field. Scum next season will be one of half a dozen clubs who could pack a punch. Only 3 can go up. Will they keep their players? Will they compete with clubs that are seasoned CC clubs... Town will not be the push over next season, they would like to think we will be . Im happy that they are their usual arrogant / cocky selves. Bring it on.

I actually think Norwich & Villa are going to find it very very tough and it is nothing to do with rivalry. Nial Quinn aluded to it last night when he said teams often bounce back straight away when they go down but when it happens again straight away for a second time they often find it much much harder and that this could well see Norwich at a very important crossroads which could go either way, losing McNally is a massive blow to them as he was instrumental in getting them into a very good place off the pitch, with that all up in the air too I see a transitional period for them coming up.

Got to hope they have a "QPR" type season and amount to "nothing to write home about".

But I'm with PBB on this if I'm honest. As of right now, I can see 4 points struck off ITFC's points total before a ball is kicked. (Loss @ CR, draw @ PR)

BUT, hopefully a summer of activity will change those views. I do rate Alex Neil a lot, but even with two brand new sets of players; if he was to tactically outmuscle Mick & Co again, I'd find that a bit embarrassing. And of course that's providing Norwich stick with him, which I can't see why they wouldn't.

How can anyone say that without even knowing what players are still going to be at Carrow Road ? It is way to early to start predicting us losing anywhere right now, or are we going on history again ?

Ha ha . love this from FB

Delia Smith humble pie

Here’s a yummy Delia Smith humble pie recipe which, like her football team, goes down wonderfully well.

The beauty of this pie is it can be produced on the cheap, but it also needs eating quickly because, although it is puffed up at first, it deflates soon after.

While other pies use no-expense-spared prime cuts of beef for the filling, Delia’s is offal. No, it really is awful.

With Norwich having been relegated this evening after Sunderland beat Everton at home, this is the perfect time to make this recipe from Delia, who owns Norwich and was once a famous television chef.

Simply take the entrails that no one else wanted and add some laughing stock. This mixture will be dreadfully bitter, and unfortunately no amount of seasoning will remove the sour taste from your mouth.

No matter, take your pastry – flaky is best – and cover your filling, then pop it in the oven at 110 degrees for 90 minutes. It will then be suitably half-baked.

Very good Hallamblue I laughed ,but the fact remains they have a good squad and an underperforming squad. Like mentioned above I dont think they will walk it nor smash the League to bits, but if they will hang onto some of their better players the will be top six at the very least.

Hope to god Im wrong and they have a religation struggle all season but i just cant see it. I got seven out of ten correct last season in what is a difficult League to predict and would have them in the top six as of today.

There will be a lot of activity throughout the close season so anything can happen.

Just hope Mick finds that illusive midfielder with creativity we have been crying out for over many a season.

As with the last response, while they may not go back at the first attempt or even be favorites for promotion, they will - without question - be expected, or have more of a chance, to be promoted next season - than over ourselves. There's no way I'd be expecting two Town wins in the games between us once again and even a draw at each venue would seem a satisfactory score. Bear in mind it's not just them we have to be aware of but other teams of recognition such as Newcastle and Aston Villa from August, there's going to be a lot of competition - and only a handful of places at end of season that will be of any use to anyone.

Taking this opportunity to draw a line under whatever Norwich aspire to do. I got no animosity towards them, no tangible ill-feeling, (there are bigger concerns in life), it's just as before I view them now as something of an insignificance, something almost trivial. Take an interest in club matters here - not elsewhere.
