To Marco, from the Mol.

Post by goldandblack » Fri May 20, 2016 4:02 pm

Wishing you the Best of luck in the Scottish Cup final mate, from all at the Mol.
Let’s have at least one trophy to show for this year of disappointments for our clubs on this messageboard.
This is the start of the return of the Mighty HIbs, the only football club in Edinburg :)
As a wise man once said “It’s a lang road that’s no goat a turnin.’

That means so much, mate...... Thanks very very much. Can't believe how nervous I am for this. I think it's because the team that were skelped 5-1 by "them" in 12 were absolute pish. Full of loanees and no one within them gave a toss. Wasn't much better in 13 v Celtic......, but this team have so much more. They basically humped Falkirk over two legs but for some scandalous decisions, came out worse off. They have a genuine chance tomorrow. Four weeks ago The SevCo Rangers came to Easter Road to win the league, but the cabbage hammered them 3-1......, SevCo were up for it, but Hibs owned them. If Stubbsy can get that level of performance from them tomorrow and then match them when they are attacking, the cup comes back to Easter Road for the first time in 114 years. We can do it!

Off to the weeg early tomorrow with son, a buddy, and my sons buddy......., bus leaving early, stopping in chappelhall for a bevvy, then Hampden!!

Mon the cabbage! :D

The first SFA Cup honor since 1902 if correct and about f**king time for all the long suffering supporters at the club. Can't abide Glasgow Rangers so take this opportunity to offer congratulations on an epic score and victory. Can't measure the pride and excitement it will have provided to supporters of the winning team - both at the game and and watching elsewhere - but spoilt to a large extent by poor behavior after game time and fighting between rival fans.

The level of which not seen at a Scots cup Final since 1980 (Celtic beat Rangers) and while today was not of the hostilities of the previous year mentioned, Strathclyde Police were kept busy and events soured the winners victory.

Sorry also that Crystal Palace were unable to win their respective game today. Thought after 26 years the opportunity was there for a big time revenge, but there was no surprise score this year and the trophy went to Manchester. At least they showed more desire and determination by all accounts than neighbors / rivals Millwall twelve years back against the same opposition and can consider themselves somewhat unfortunate to have been second best today.

Marko will still be nursing his head, delighted for him and the green half of Edinbourgh. After a very very long wait they have done it.

Well done to the Hibbies, shame about the fans disgraceful behaviour which for me soured the victory and did nothing for Scottish football and bought shame on the fans.

But all said and done the name Hibernian FC will be engraved on the Cup and that will never change

Agree with Charny, very pleased for Hibs & Marko but the scenes at the end have marred it and tarnished the name of Hibernian FC, unfortunatley all of the talk is of the trouble rather than the cup win.

 OMG Hib's will come under the hammer for this pitch invasion and violence debacle against the Rangers players and staff, and smashing up the goal and damaging the turf, :( absolutely spoilt what was a very special occasion for Hibernian FC, after a 100 year wait to win this cup, I can see the Scottish FA coming down severely on the club, a very heavy fine, and might even get a points deduction for next season, absolute bloody idiots, spoilt the whole ceremony, and I liked the way the Hibernian chairman took it all with a pinch of salt attitude, wont be so fooking happy once the penalties come through to dent the clubs bank account, and rightly so, whatever punishment they get will be fully deserved, will be interested to see what deterrent gets handed out.

If you look on their national publication The Daily Record there's enough news and report to keep anyone busy. Tried to submit a link but their site was (for want of better words) 'proving problematic' and was forced to abandon.

It says if correct every Rangers player was attacked and spat on at end of game by rival support, and god forbid someone had a weapon at hand, it was the worst example of fan behavior at a game of that nature for 35 years. While you can understand the exuberance of the winning teams support (in finally recording an honor that had proved elusive for 100 + years) it doesn't excuse the actions taken by some (moronic) fans and the shame they brought on themselves and the club as a whole.

Simple math here - In a national final against an opposition that are expected to beat you : chance of first trophy win in the competition since 1902

Alcohol, last minute winning goal, emotions running high

Beating an opposition team that while not of the animosity of Heart of Midlothian, still represent something of an enemy team.

Add all those elements together, and small wonder there was eventual trouble at the event. Actions will be taken, sanctions handed out, banning of personnel from club fixtures.. As mentioned it was a sad state of affairs that soured what should have been the greatest success in one teams history for a great many years. Remembered for all the wrong reasons.

It's there in black and white, they've taken a vacation with immediate effect. With no Scots representation at this years European Championships (as well no Ipswich games for some time to come) there's nothing to be present for, so why not a trip elsewhere and take in the sights.

Jaysus H, six text messages from mates instructing me to get my arse on here and "get it sorted"......., didn't realise it was that big an issue.

Suppose I better mention the more serious stuff first for those who don't read entire posts before wetting their y fronts, and spewing pish all over their keyboards...... 114 years..... Score the winner in the 92nd minute......, final whistle, and it's merely a outpouring of pure pent up emotion that caused the Hibs fans to enter the pitch. 99.9% were on there, crying, cuddling, kissing, hugging, and bouncing up and down. There was nothing disgraceful about it whatsoever. Not denying it was wrong for the judgemental bawbags among you lot, but that's exactly what it was all about. Unfortunately, the other 0.1% who call themselves Hibs fans, ran to the away end to goad. Hopefully the book is thrown at them. No doubt there will be Hibs who know these Erseholes and they can deal with them accordingly.

Fans attacking players. Gutter press, and it's been confirmed by Laura Miller, wife of Kenny Miller, who has stated that it's all lies, nothing happened to any Rangers player on the park. Lee Wallace has also since been found to be lying about his own "assault". This is backed up with Tv footage of him walking off unscathed. Miller himself was "high fiving" Hibs fans. I was there, in section F1, TT 013, great view of said "pitch invasion" and what YOU are seeing, is selective pictures from the gutter press and from the gutter TV media. The same gutter press were creaming their pants in 77 when Scotland fans broke your goals!! You saw it as hooligsnism! But the Scottish gutter press saw it as banter? That SAME press are calling this hooligsnism because their beloved Glasgow team were pumped. Downright double standard hypocrisy. There was a "stramash" of around 30 people in one corner of the pitch at Hampden, people who call themselves fans. The other 99.9% of the hibees on the field were drunk with bevvy and emotion. Nothing will tarnish their day, my day, our day.

The New SevCo Rangers want an enquiry? Hibernian FC say bring it on. And our chairman and police Scotland have said that this enquiry will cover the "wider aspects" of the afternoon. Meaning, the cut heads of Hibs fans, including a child from coins thrown, the sectarian songs sung in their entirety, and the "caught on camera" attempted abduction of a Hibs kid by a The Rangers fan.

Trust me, nothing at all has been marred. If people choose to remember this day for that, then so be it....,,., but as an attendee, the press are so so far from the truth. They still see us as immigrants, even though we've been an Edinburgh club since 1875. Fk them all. Bring on the inquest, and all the enquiries they want. The truth will come out, and The Rangers will wish they'd just accepted defeat gracefully, because let's face it, we fkn hammered them......, should've been 6-2......, Stubbsy, get working on the "finishing"!

And one more thing. St Jude...... You do know the Daily Record is Called the Daily Ranger in Scotland? You are the first "Celtic fan" I've ever see quote from it. Bit of a disgrace, buddy. I think one of my buddies has copied and pasted your post and sent it to a Celtic forum asking "what one of you bawbags wrote this pish?"

Parade was awesome, not one arrest, 40K Hibs fans down leith walk. Was awesome. A day that will live with me forever and ever and ever and ever. I have even went to my great grandads grave today and tied my Hampden scarf around the small monument. RIP Grandad, you were right, the day we won the Scottish Cup was indeed "bloody amazing!"

Cheers y'all. Have a good summer.

Well with the closest thing to a derby for me next season being Dunfermline Athletic, maybe an ITFC/NCFC wouldn't be too bad. Could be difficult to organise that though. All those years ago when we attended Portman Road, most of my buddies were single. They're all married now with young kids......, they all need permission to head down the local! I'm guessing a trip to SoFuck would result in separations, ......, and as much as I love ma pals, they ain't moving in with me! :D Seriously though, it's definitely something on the list of things to do again. Need to see that ITFC win.

More breaking news:
Andy Halliday, allegedly one of the six The Rangers staff that were "assaulted"........, lies. Statement from Hibs player Dylan McGeough, who is a friend of Halliday,:
"I'm good friends with Andy and I stood beside him on the halfway line. There were a few fans running about and he was standing with me and the referee."

Where are these "kickings" that the Daily Ranger is talking about? I'm hoping reporter, Gordon Waddell is questioned and asked to give evidence on what he claims to have saw.

And Gordon Smith making similarities with 1980 is downright corrupt and completely disgraceful. To even insert the name of Hibernian FC and compare us alongside the Old Firm names is completely offensive. They are doing their utmost to smear our name........, probably to try and get us kicked out of Europe, and get themselves reinstated because the new club have grossly overspent, just like OLD Rangers, ......, and they need the money. Pathetic.

On a happier note......, awaiting the date for fans photos with the Cup. I'll be heading to Easter Road, (from Sicily if need be) to have picture snapped with my son. GGTTH.

Glad you had a great day Marko,
And well done to the Hibbie's for a great win.
I watch the game, and Hib's were by far the better team, And as for the "attacks" well the only thing I saw was Rangers players having their hands shaken, or other ways of condolence from the supporters(not sure if they were Hibs or Rangers supporter)

And yes I did shout YES! when the winner went in, as I know you were there and going mental!

NOW GET YOUR ARSES IN THE SPL.
