Bloody hell. We have to get back with a sensible head at the helm and LEARN from our mistakes (and others).
650M hasn't helped Villa.

Any attempt at reading the above link supplied was rendered impossible with the number of needless f**king adverts flashing away and as a result, making the pages unresponsive. Unless someone can provide the text on a page that remains free and unmolested then unable to glean sufficient information.

Or perhaps it's just another age old issue that money provides success and without it a team can't progress.

Valid point, but we know it's not all about expenditure that gets a team places. This club hasn't progressed as it should due to a line of crap managers, with their crap ideas and crap purchases. You could have given Roy Keane or Jewell a sh*t load of money at their disposal to spend on the team (McCarthy also as before) but any available funds would have been rendered just about redundant by the "individuals" behind it.

Totally disagree with that SJ, for McCarthy to have finished 6th & 7th with virtually no money to spend was a commendable effort that most if not all other managers would not have even dared try to attempt pulling off, therefore I believe had he had the nsame millions as others were given I believe he would have had us in or very very close to the top two. To put him in the same bracket as Keane & Jewell is frankly stupid and ridiculous.

Whatever MM's shortcomings - which for some seem all that matters - to get us anywhere near a £170M bonus, with a paltry £500K investment, ain't bad going in anyone's book. Speculation over how much better he might do given some loot, will hopefully turn into reality if ME comes good. Webster's imminent signing is a good first step.

Keane and Jewell don't compare - either as individuals or football men.

Roy Keane is an absolute raging bellend.

That is all.

It sounds something derogatory, but the real fool was the one who hired him in the first place. Came in on a fanfare of hype and publicity, and set the club back several years from that short tenure alone.

PS Blue Mike : read what you put in the above and realize McCarthy is something of a favorite among sections of the support but it was a spontaneous reaction. Maybe in retrospect I was a bit harsh on the individual but one last time, the number of times I lost patience and sounded expletives based on his approaches this last season I got no fear or regret on occasion of what some may (or may not) deem inappropriate.

Yes you believe with money McCarthy could make us viable and progress - others would beg to differ. (Ideally could possess the expenditure of Real Madrid, but with those tactics and too many "couldn't give a sh*t" approaches before key games, it could - or would - prove eventually futile)

No, the real fool was the one who had a meltdown, said he'd have the league won in one season because "it's not that difficult", offloaded Jordan Rhodes and bought Tamas f**king Priskin. The ones who hired him saw a guy win the championship, and so were duped by that fluke.

Bellend? Sounds derogatory? Sorry Saint, I forgot you are from America and not used to some sayings. A raging Bellend is a really really nice guy. That's what I was saying in that other post......, Roy Keane, nice guy.

Hypothetical Example:

Hallam: you are not being very nice Saint!
Saint: I think you'll find that i'm a raging bellend my dear.
