How much would Ray Crawford be worth in today's game ? Not easy to put a direct price on it, but to put a figure out there, anything less than 40 million would be an insult to the man. Largely responsible for the 1962 championship win and it's with a degree of disappointment there was not more acknowledgement to this great name in this here subject.
Didn't take an interest in team affairs until some years after his departure but him and Phillips together - what a partnership, the likes of which we'll never see again here at Ipswich - and take this opportunity to wish Mr Crawford very best wishes and to anyone who may get the opportunity to meet him in person in the near future, please pass on my regards and thank him for his service at this club and what we achieved during his time here. Without it, it wouldn't have been possible.
