Another interesting stat from the BBC website:
"The Tractor Boys have made 298 interceptions in the Championship this season; at least 66 more than any other team".

Re: Ipswich Town v Burton Albion preview and matchday thread
After five games without a goal I'll be more than happy just to see us start scoring again. If this doesn't happen all I can see is yet another 0-0 bore draw.
Just happy to be away from it all in Spain.

At last and not before time. I'd be more than happy to settle for this as a final score.

Burton could be 2 or 3 up if their players could actually see where the goal is. Hit and hope comes to mind.

Should we be making any changes to correct this.?

Burton looked the better team in the first half..not sure if there is anyone on the bench that could make a difference..No Williams ? Will be lucky to hold on for the win.

f**king hell has the team actually scored a goal. How are we looking for those who are at the game ?
Keep this lead and while it may keep the pressure off McCarthy for the time being, it's something to build on.

I got Sears as second scorer, why couldn't we do this before now ?
Papering over cracks essentially but about time a damn victory came our way. Seems Burton had a number of chances themselves and we could be flattered by the eventual scoreline but what the hell, we're about to win a game finally

Finally.
I still believe we need a bit more to compete at a higher level.
Midfield goal machine- is John Walk available
A reliable 20 goal striker !
Great that we can do clean sheets again.

Would've been weird being defeated AT HOME to Burton Shytey Albion, regardless if they played well.
Hats off to both Chambers and FREDDYYYYYY! Well done, son. Now go bag a hatrick at Nookie.

A welcome win but don't let it fool you,Burton outplayed us for a good part of the game and if they could have finished better it could have been very different. Good to see Freddie get the monkey off his back. a good win with a very big BUT.

Re: Ipswich Town v Burton Albion preview and matchday thread
Chilly night at PR - made warmer by a much needed win, two good goals and another a clean sheet. In truth a patchy performance, where the Brewers might consider themselves unlucky not to have left with at least a point. They played the better football, without really creating too many clear cut chances. But it's scoring goals that matters and, tonight, we did and they didn't.
The result is a building block and a confidence builder. Will leave it to Bluemike to provide his usual accurate match report. But have to be pleased with this result - and particularly for Freddy Sears (at long last!).

Hats off to the lads. They dug-out a much needed win and it does paper over the last few weeks but a win is a win. I can't believe that we are only three points off the play offs, incredible when you consider the run we have been on.

Re: Ipswich Town v Burton Albion preview and matchday thread
That was one of the most open games of football I've seen at PR in a long, long time. It was entertaining and free flowing. All crefit to Burton to push forward so many men away from home like they did.
With 5 players strung across their midfield they outnumbered our three and we're easily able to pile men forwards in or around our box. It was easy to see how they have caught so many other teams out this season. But all credit to our back four - The " Big Pole in the goal" hardly had a save to make despite a fair number of shots from the opposition. Many were simply blasted well wide.
Town played their part in what I would call a "proper football game" with some very well worked moves and how we didn't stick 3 or 4 goals past them in addition to the 2 we did get, God only knows.
I actually enjoyed tonight's game for the first time in a long long while. The icing on the cake was that Freddie goal. and the ground erupting into song. "Oh Freddie Freddie . Freddie, Freddie,Freddie, Freddie, Freddie Sears"
Chambo also had one of his best games in a long while and his flying header was a belter of a goal.
Maybe we are starting to turn that corner!
