It's a new thing at Easter Road where there are minutes applauses either at the start or during the games for fans who have passed on. Announcements made in the match day programme. Hopefully this could be arranged out of respect for The Don at Portman Road.

No, I am shocked, sad and choked, not go the words but my sincere condolences to all his family and friends, so bloody young it is unfair.

He had some wit thats for sure and will be missed.

I am sat here in disbelief,

RIP Don.

Words can't describe my feelings. Totally shocked and stunned.

Even though I didn't know him too well in person I've had a pleasure to meet up with him once during one of my visits in Ipswich. Spent a couple of hours talking all things Ipswich. He was impressive with his knowledge from inside the club.

Myself, Rob and few other Town fans spent a few years discussing on the other forum. Saw hundreds of his posts and opinions so his tragedy really strikes me.

He even sent me good wishes after I had been struck by car 4 years ago.

I'm really dejected and can't stop thinking about what happened to him.

Rest In Peace Blue Brother

From Maciek

In total shock, though never met the man I always had the impreesion that he would be open and frank with you on all aspects of life and football, and like myself had an opinion on everything.

My sincere condolencies to all his immediate Family and close friends. He will be missed on this forum thats for sure.

RIP :(

Didn't know what to say here, so avoided putting any down for too long. Feels so unfair, guy with his whole life ahead of him and a little daughter. The Don was a hard case, with a wicked sense of humour and he was one sharp cookie. He'll be sadly missed from here by many he's never met, and it's clear from those whose lives he's touched he'll be very sadly missed from the world at large. Thoughts are with his family, just so awful.

Thanks to Kirsty (Crazy) for highlighting that gofundme.com page https://www.gofundme.com/in-memory-of-r ... 3nw/donate

Mods any chance we can make that it's own sticky so more people are aware of it?

I cannot believe I didnt see this until today. I have been wondering why he wasnt on here or on facebook, but I knew he was getting more tied up with his business and always wrote it off to that.

Living 10,000 miles away, you wouldnt think his passing would affect me, but after so many interactions about Ipswich, the NFL, our jobs, and his dislike of baseball...just so sad.

Two months on, I'm hoping all are coping. Especially his daughter.

Has enough time passed to ask what the cause of death was? If this has been mentioned on other communication outlets, I do apologise but I'm not on any of that. And fully understand if no information has been disclosed.

I pm'd Dave only a week ago marko, asking tentively the same things. Im not wishing to appear insensitive, but it's only natural to inquire when dome one so young and full of life is taken so suddenly.

RIP Rob x

Dave, did Rob's dad ever give you a further explanation of the sad events surrounding Rob's death?
If it's a case of he didn't want to say that's fine I won't inquire further.
