You would imagine we'd have been there for the 1962 Charity Shield event against that great Tottenham team of the time but guess they found an alternative venue to stage it at.

In retrospect it was something of an honor to play a decisive game against the caliber of players such as Greaves, Dyson, MacKay, Blanchflower, John White etc and it's a pity the national stadium wasn't selected for it.

We did play at Wembley again in the 1978 Charity Shield and for those who don't remember we got walloped again 5-0.
