Thought I'd put this in the main forum, it's a bit glum in here, and I know for certain that Ohiotractorboy has a sense of humour and will find this funny.......,
Was in the plumbing merchants earlier this morning having a conversation with Pete about Thanksgiving Day in America......, just general chit chat, Pete has in-laws that are American etc etc. Anyway Big Alec, (plumber) strolls into the merchants and right into our conversation. He says:
"Thanksgiving Day? Yer f**king right it's Thanksgiving Day. Thankful the crazy bstds are on the other side of the f**king Atlantic!"
I actually spat out coffee with laughter. Confident Ohio will find this funny........, if not , I'll send him a case of Irn Bru!
I sense he'll tell me he's completely offended! That crazy bstd American!

Sounds like when I was with the American side of the family and we were all sitting around the dinner table and they asked me if we celebrate Thanksgiving?
I replied "yes on the 4th July". You could have heard a pin drop and the missus gave me a quick kick in the shins.

Police have just released details of a new drug craze that is being carried out in Yorkshire nightclubs, Apparently, Yorkshire club goers have started injecting Ecstasy just above their front teeth, Police say the dangerous practice is called "e by gum"

I think I hear a bit of jealousy wafting over from my UK friends. I mean, sure I laughed out loud at the 4th of July comment, and Big Alec I am sure would love us if he got to know us. Well, maybe not, but...
What other day do you get to drink all day and eat until you get physically ill all in the name of the Indians helping the Pilgrims? Or thanks to God, depending on who you listen to. I know marko, every day in Scotland, but at least we make it official!
And dammit, you know me too well. I was already reaching for the PM button to get you my address again as I cry for the Irn Bru!
