bluemike wrote:As I have said elsewhere, I really don't get why fans are upset at being labelled fickle, to me there is nothing wrong with being fickle if that is how people choose to be. Somebody who says " I am not going to watch Town anymore until we are playing better and winning more" is in my eyes 100% fickle, so what, good luck to them, maybe they are the sensible ones but fickle it is, and most of those examples of what fickle means is spot on, unreliable, erratic, lack consistency etc etc. I disagree that Town fans are not this, for me they very much are these days, maybe they have good reason, that is all about opinion, but I am of the opinion that support of your club is non conditional, good with the bad and all that.

I don't agree that the last Three years have been utter dross, 6th and 7th place finishes with what we have at our disposal was nothing short of remarkable and MM played to the strengths of the squad he had and it worked, pretty at times it may not be but I don't see it as utter dross, what was it Nine away wins in our play off season, last season we had I believe the second best home record, obviously this season is where the problems lie but that should not detract from the achievements of the previous seasons. If the last Three seasons have been utter dross who in their right mind goes back for more this season ? Surely that was a choice many could have made but it can't have been that bad or they wouldn't have returned.

15 years of rip off ticket prices is an area where the club falls down but lets not forget ME has frozen ticket prices every year excpet One I believe so it was the good old family run club days that caused this issue not the current owner, for all his faults that is not his doing.

I must admit I am not sure why we are comparing ourselves with that load of sh*te up the road, I have very little interest in what goes on up there apart from hoping they get stuffed every weekend.

We will have to disagree Mike I guess,

Even when Town were just scrapping the PO's , the football style was awful then , and I would often remark on it as did many others.Just squeezing into POs perhaps made it a bit more palatable.

As for ST prices being frozen , well yes ME has done that . But in truth our pricing was so far above the market rate that it has taken a good decade for other clubs to catch us up , and that has only been possible because our were frozen. However we are still one of the most expensive in this division and we have been in this division for nearly 17 yrs now. Had Town fans left at the first price hike after Admin then yes I would sdsay that would be fickle ....but not after 15 + years of underachievement underinvestment and absolutely shyte entertainment.

Hey Liz, nothing wrong with disagreeing with people, I am sure a large majority will see it as you see it, having an opinion is what it is all about.

Scum this, scum that here and TWTD :astroll: :astroll: :astroll: Dear me Hallam ! Please ! Don't we have our own problems to worry what happens anywhere else?

Given the scale of our problems you will find few Ipswich fans so interested what is going on at theirs, whether Alex Neil will be sacked or anything else.
And what exactly does make us more loyal than them? Yes it's perhaps stupid to want the manager sacked after losing 4 games but at least they voice their frustration. What about 'so loyal' Town fans? They sit quiet and do nothing while Evans' disastrous ownership and policy is slowly and gradually killing the club.

If we get relegated our crowds will be 9-10k in League One. Yes Evans is pricing Town fans out of the game but the undeniable fact also is that they had had over 25k in League One.

Plus we have had 7000 empty seats during last East Anglian derby. If we and they are in the Championship next season there will be even more empty seats.

Yes we can laugh at them whey they lose and vice versa as it's a part of rivalry. But we aren't exactly in the position to mock them are we? We are a tinpot club who has no ambition at all and we might be even relegated from this poxy league this season or in the next 2-3 years. We have massive problems so why bothering so much if they are fickle or not , if Neil will be sacked or not etc etc.

Marcus Evans wouldn't last long at theirs for his lack of interest. They wouldn't sit quiet. So instead of slating them we better off showing our displeasure and frustration towards our disastrous owner who is too busy making millions elsewhere to worry about the state of ITFC.

Biggest bloody winger. And fickle? Me? Fine. Still better than being obsessed about Norwich.

Anyway I've asked you what makes us more loyal than them. Just a normal question AKA my f***ing problem and you lay into me. No need to be angry Liz.

Every bloody need Mach.

Read my post as regards why we are NOT like scum and are more loyal than them. I'm not writing it out for you again. Bloody read what I've already written. It really is that simple. I've given very clear reasons.

I look forward ( not) to your usual post match rant ( assuming we lose).....or conversely your OTT response of we win. No middle road with you.

Spot on Liz that's your personal choice if you're angry or not.

Still don't know what makes us more loyal than them but maybe it's only me. They voice their frustrations (whether it's right or wrong) while we sit QUIET and Evans doesn't feel any pressure from the Ipswich environment. If we're in League One we'll be lucky to get 10k at Portman Road, will you still say we're more 'loyal' than them?

My usual post match rant ( assuming we lose)... or conversely your OTT response of we win. Maybe that's the passion? Or 'fickle' ? Call it how you want. For me it's an opinion about what I see. There is a normal view. About the club we all love. About our passion and drug Ipswich Town is. Not bloody rants about Norwich this or Norwich that.

And I don't make you or anyone else read my reports if you think it's deemed cringeworthy.

And OK here is me FICKLE Ipswich fan !!!

As before, can argue all day long over who has the greater loyalty between ourselves and Norwich City but when time won't permit it, say again their support at Carrow Road has been something to be applauded over the years. Like them, don't like them, they invariably have for year after year given a very good crowd at home and filled their arena most match days. Of course this doesn't make them more loyal than ourselves on that basis alone, but still something that deserves merit.

The whole fickle issue will run and run and you need look no further than a certain forum page directly after game time should we pick up a victory over Rangers tomorrow for a prime example, but whatever people subscribe to, not going to change opinion regardless of what occurs. (I accept the season is by and large over so long as both McCarthy and Evans remain in "authority" - which they shall)
