Put us out of our misery McCarthy.......

Post by jeremy rusher » Sat Dec 03, 2016 6:20 pm

A defeat is always around the corner. Another dull weekend, another wasted journey for 1100 odd travelling fans @ Bristol City. Losing more supporters every week.

What are the players being coached for as there are no signs of any actual improvement. A defeat is always around the corner. Another dull weekend, another wasted journey for 1100 odd travelling fans. After all the newspaper rubbish recently and the football fraternity sticking up for McCarthy yet we still can not muster 2 good games on the trot. That means the team can only perform when they really try. They win a game but can not take that win into the next game. Now wait for McCarthy to gloss over another poor game and result. We do not have a strike force to score goals. We have a midfield chasing shadows in most games with no creativity. We concede goals far too easily. Yet we all have to wait for another week to see what happens and more newspaper and Mick Mills analysis. Over rated players but there is not one other club wanting to sign any of our players. More dull games to come and the usual flak from the fans. Another Saturday ruined.
You got to give plaudits to the support who traveled the some 460 mile round trip and that figure represents a fine show.

Gleaning again what was mentioned, the team can show a rise in performance when it suits them, as was evident in the Rangers victory, but there are too many 'off days', and seems often we have players that have the capabilities to achieve something, but not the inclination.

Yes Mike and I were there. Just 8hrs of driving to watch that inept, shot shy, shower of shyte again.

Still, at least the lads got paid their £10k again this week or 1/2 £million a year. Sorry, who are the mugs here??

Anyone called Toby :D

Totally understand the frustration - even anger - by all who made the trek west yesterday. Increasingly sense that apathy is starting to replace passion and commitment among an increasing number of supporters. So sad - but totally understandable; except, perhaps, by those who should care the most. But then if you don't acknowledge that problems exist, then you don't have to deal with them!

Arise the Mad Duke of Portman! :D

Thankfully, there will always be those whose support and love for the Club runs far deeper than that for any owner, manager or bunch of players. They are effectively only temporary visitors.

To save a new thread, and relevant to those that are still resolute in a change of manager, it didn't go unnoticed today that Alan Pardew is now surplus to requirement at Crystal Palace Football Club.

This was a name that always held some considerable interest. Was in charge of an opposition team that beat this club in successive years in the play-off games, and also two FA Cup Finals to his resume. Has proven before he has been successful, and like it or not, if there was a choice tomorrow in seeing McCarthy vacate and Pardew given an opportunity, a great many you feel would jump at the chance.

That's not to say it's ever to occur, in all probability zero movement will come out of it from our part : but in spite of the recent pick up in favorable scores here in recent weeks, I'd take him in right now if it were possible rather than risk further episodes of McCarthy's ineptitude.

I cannot stand Pardue. He's an arrogant pillock of the higehst order, and he couldnt do a better job at ITFC that Mick McMcarthy. So Id say no thanks to Pardue.

Seems strange the number of times I've seen you on Those Were the Days vehemently advocating McCarthy's resignation, but OK if you insist. It could be argued all of us at some time or another this calendar year have believed anybody could do a better job of it than what we have had. This may seem too random, granted, but that's only an indication of how far behind we have fallen and the often poor performances and sub-standard results.

Pardew, incidentally, was allegedly awarded four and three quarter million in compensation after being fired from Crystal Palace, something which in itself is a questionable sum of money. Essentially, he's received more by way of one termination than he could feasibly earn in two or three season's of actual club management ?

Allardyce may work for them, but the Homlesdale End would beg to differ as many view it as an unambiguous unsatisfactory appointment and all this after the recent English national team debacle, seems was rushed in by their directors without much urgency for proper consideration.

I have said many a time I think MM needs to move on, but like many Town fans, who hate his style of football, we also are at a loss as to who could do a better job ( style of football excluded), than him. Par due certainly couldn't.

I hope that explains things more simply for you!

What about giving Klug a go? by all accounts the reserves and youth teams are playing a footballing game under him!
Worth a shout?

I have a great respect for MMC and what he has done here at Ipswich, but we need some fresh ideas. I don't think our squad is too shabby, and therefore money would not make too much difference. What we need is new eyes to look over the team and decide who's in and who's out. A new philosophy and ideas would bring back the talent of the players we have.

I think Klug needs to stay where he is . If he can develop good young players, then let him keep on doing what he's doing.

Being a First Team Manager is totally different to working with kids. We want a genuine manager who can bring through Klug's youngsters, not Klug himself.

Also, this club needs fresh input from outside, because there is MM"s ingrained footprint running all the way through it and it's as stale as hell.

I'm not even sure how close MM is to getting the sack. Probably as safe as houses. Another gutless, tepid performance like yesterday's in the next game will bring him closer, but MM always seems to pull a win from somewhere to paper over the cracks.

I'd rather have George Burley back. Football would return to the club and the kids would be given their chance and the "real blokes" who weren't performing would be out.

I know we look back at better times with managers like Burley and get over-nostalgic, but I don't think he's the answer. There must be younger, hungrier managers around. Can't help think that George Burley's glory days are way behind him. It doesn't seem to matter what we think, ME has to be convinced we need a change.

I'm with Tang, please let's not go back over Burley, Mowbray or any other old Town boy, they would all be a disastewr and are yesterday's men. Gary Rowett would be a decent change while AylesburyBlue is always banging on about what a great job Graham Alexander has done at scunthorpe, another good shout, Two decent options there alone. For anyone thinking of the likes of Wilnis, Tarricco, Holland blah blah blah, get a grip.
