Why would Kim Kardashian predict an Ipswich win, I know she's stupid, but not that stupid.number 9 wrote:I bet Kim Kardashian has said the same thing!Watership Down wrote:caption. Last season in the same round Lincoln lost at home to Forest Green Rovers, if you guys seriously don't think this should be a safe home win we really should be giving up and finding something else to do on a Saturday afternoon.
3-0 win for Town. If we lose I think we'll go further into decline and possibly drop into the relegation battle which we currently sit only half a dozen or so points above.

Always remember on Third Round day in 1995 we played Wrexham in the competition and lost 2 - 1. Back then, despite the awful season we were enduring in the EPL, it was viewed as one of the biggest upsets of that weekend of games. (As fate would have it, was present at the Cup Final in person four months later to see a victory)Charnwood wrote:Last season in the same round Lincoln lost at home to Forest Green Rovers, if you guys seriously don't think this should be a safe home win we really should be giving up and finding something else to do on a Saturday afternoon.

Point being, in the years since no Ipswich team has been on the wrong end of a reverse of such proportions in the competition and defeat to Lincoln would surely eclipse that afternoon. I don't think (as mentioned) a loss would put the club into relegation crisis, it could be just the kick in the as* the players need to improve themselves and restore some pride from a deteriorating season.
It didn't go unnoticed that some individual was in favor of a Lincoln win in the pre-game vote.

I just had a look at Lincoln`s last 10 games won 8 drew 1 lost 1 and the team they lost too was Guiseley who were BOTTOM of their league at the time.
So it looks like they struggle against struggling teams so an easy win for Town 5-4

3 votes for a Lincoln win now, what a day out that would be for their 5000 fans.

Re: Ipswich Town vs Lincoln City FACup 3rd Round Matchday Thread
I see that Kenlock, Chambers and Skuse are carrying knocks from MM's comments and are doubtful.
Hope that Kenlock is fit to get more game time.
Seeing that Skuse and particularly Chambers are never hardly injured - just seems a bit of a coincidence leading up to this Cup game.
Not that bothered if it 'weakens' us, but do wonder if these 'knocks' are for convenience - a tactical injury. Mick not wanting to say he's going to weaken the side and giving these players a week off.
Or could be not to 'cup-tie' Chambers - who might on the way to Wolves or Derby.
Not being over-confident, but if any replacements comes in for Skuse, say, they should be at a certain level to deal with a non-league team. If not - why are they near the first-team at a Championship level side? Problems really arise when you change 1/2 to 2/3 of the team to bring in deadwood / youth players - not the odd one or two.

Re: Ipswich Town vs Lincoln City FACup 3rd Round Matchday Thread
I agree with all of the above. MM has virtually admitted that he won't risk anyone, so I can't see any of them playing. I assume / hope that Emmanuel will come in for Chambers, and Knudsen will return for Kenlock. Skuse is a bigger problem as although I don't rate him particularly, as long as Hyam is injured we are short of a defensive midfielder. Unless of course Douglas takes charge....tangfastic wrote:I see that Kenlock, Chambers and Skuse are carrying knocks from MM's comments and are doubtful.

It's good to see a fair bit of interest in this tie, at least in terms of the activity on the preview thread! Although, thinking about it, maybe that is more a reflection of the way our league season has gone!
Quite a range of predictions coming through as well...

Re: Ipswich Town vs Lincoln City FACup 3rd Round Matchday Thread
I think tomorrow's match provides an opportunity to jump off the relentless league programme trolley bus and lock horns with an Imps side who, although the supposed underdogs, will nevertheless fancy their chances. With nothing to lose, expect them to play with confidence and enthusiasm, and arrive ready to give it a bloody good go. Potentially makes for a great encounter, and hoping that it proves to be a blood and thunder match.
Of course it's one we should - perhaps must - win; although MM will almost certainly remain, even if the worst should happen. However, he does appear to be taking the match seriously, and will play 'my strongest available' team. Have a feeling there might be some pre-match spin going on regarding injuries etc - wait for 2 pm tomorrow to see who starts. If Skuse is genuinely crocked, then Douglas will fill the holding role, probably with Bru alongside him. Deep joy! But I'm actually looking forward to the match. COYB

Yes, it's good to see the preview page well into the 2nd page with still over 24hrs until kick off. The preview threads have been on the wrong end of a reverse recently!Jamma123 wrote:It's good to see a fair bit of interest in this tie, at least in terms of the activity on the preview thread! To be honest......, I'm just busting his balls for a laugh, nothing else. It's just that he informed the forum that I was on ignore, but I hadn't done anything wrong. I think he basically just didn't like the hilarity, the humour......., and the breaking point was probably the proper and good advice I gave on being depressed. Was genuinely trying to help. Next thing I read, was on ignore!
It really is just a bit of fun......., although being on the wrong side of a reverse is now something I need to know, it's a 2017 goal to find out.
And err..,...., anyone wanting depression tips @ 4:55pm tomorrow afternoon, drop me a pm!
