9......, the words "a chance" means it makes no sense to me. There is always a chance of moving forward from the back. Sounds like he's speaking of particular chances 50 yards from goal.......:, for me, like you say, move from the back, create goal scoring chances, and maybe a chance will come up. The only "chance" you'll get 50 yards out is seeing the keeper ten feet off his line and having a pop. Interpretation though eh? If we all read things the same, there'd be world peace!

Have to agree with Shed......Both of towns goals were celebrated with an act of contempt towards his team mates, shrugging them off or running past them. It was the body language of a player who knows that their are deep divisions within the camp.

It also has to be said MM cannot in any way shape of form be held accountable for Bart giving away a stupid penalty at Bristol, or for Bart dropping an easy catch at the feet of the cardiff striker to tap home, or for Berra f**king up headers at QPR and again yesterday, for Webster misjudging the flight of the ball for QPR to net the winner, the list goes on and on and on. As Shed says, players need to be held accountable too and these are individual errors from usually dependable players.

Yes, these are individual errors and the players responsibility.
I think fans understand these happen - even to the best players. Only thing is, Micks philosophy is based around fine margins.... Keep it tight and sneak a goal. We don't have a goal threat ( apart from Lawrence) so all these errors are being magnified and becoming more crucial. I don't blame Mick for players errors, but I do blame him for setting up teams so negatively and not being able to pose more of a goal threat.
Mick does not have a ' We'll score more than you " attitude... rather "We"ll not concede more than you " attitude.

I hope you're right, and I'm wrong on this one.bluemike wrote:I disagree with Number9 on the relegation thing too, I don't think MM would ever take us down, for me that is not the issue.

So if my interpretation is correct, you're saying the keeper should be taking 50 yard shots?marko69 wrote:9......, the words "a chance" means it makes no sense to me. I'd have been more of a George Burley type of defender. Nimble, quick and not afraid to get forward.

I'd have been a more Johnny Vegas type defender....... Fat b*stard, eat pies, talk sh*t to the ref.

Re: Ipswich Town vs Lincoln City FACup 3rd Round Matchday Thread
The thing is that it's not just us saying the same things about this team:
Terry Butcher said earlier in the season that there was nobody in the dressing room ready or willing to stand up to McCarthy and that, in his time, there were people even willing to challenge Sir Bobby, which was a good thing as it put "things on the table" for discussion. He said at the time that the current squad is full of "yes" men...
On Saturday I was told by a Steward that "one of our ex-pros" left the game with 15 mins to go and when asked about the match said it was "*** **** crap" and that we were outplayed football wise by a conference team and also that, in his view, "players are not playing for the manager anymore".
Isn't it interesting that people in the game are saying the same things as us?

Well I wish bloody Evans would get his head out of his arse and DO SOMETHING about it . He's the only one that can do anything now.
How much longer are we going to have to wait ??

Im not sure the club will be happy about this as it piles even more pressure on both Mick and ITFC in general as we will be in the spotlight and everyone talking about us if we were to lose. I think it does mean that we will almost certainly play our strongest team (even if that isn't really what MM wants to do)lucy wrote:The replay is being shown on BBC1 next Tuesday 8:05pm
I bought my ticket for this match about an hour ago then just saw its on TV, not sure I would have gone if I knew beforehand but in any case I am looking forward to a new ground to tick off the list. Will be tough evening.
By the way this being put on TV is GREAT news for Lincoln, im happy for them as this will be much needed revenue for them, and what an incentive for them to put a performance in with millions watching, lets hope our boys have the stomach for a "proper" FA Cup night

Knowing my luck it will go to extra-time and we will lose on penalties. As you say another ground to tick off the list though.

Given the prominence the Beeb gave to Lincoln on Football Focus etc, and then how close they came to causing the proverbial 'Cup Shock', am not surprised the replay has made it onto prime time. Media no-brainer - they clearly still smell Blue and White blood!
Am pleased for Lincoln, and it's something of a nice little earner for both teams. However, I bet all MM is thinking about right now is Blackburn on Saturday, and getting 3 points. The outcome/performances of that game may well influence MM's team selection for the replay.

New ground for me too so glad I am going to the replay as opposed to watching on TV, I hate watching us on TV anyway as you still get to suffer the sh*te but without the social side of things. Lincoln here we come !!!

Lincoln fans kicking off about the replay. It would seem Season Ticket Holders were allowed up to 4 tickets each, then General Sale it was 10 each. Several fans kicking off as tickets have been put on the Internet for high prices.
