Don't think we've ever had a player as tall as this new guy. From MM interview it sounds like this new lad is agrees I've, quick, has a good 1st touch and good heading ability. Reckon the likes of Pitman, Lawrence, Sears will thrive off his contributions.

Had a look at the players career thus far : started out with a number of obscure club sides in South West England before transferring to the League of Norway of all places. Possibly a name for the future but until he's featured enough times for this club will remain in the majority that are skeptical. Obviously could play a key feature at set pieces but could take a while to adapt to the championship league after only prior experience at a much lower level.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
He's actually played in the Championship for Yeovil in 2013. They were briefly less obscure then. Then got released when they got relegated... then drifted to Norway and non-league. Stats can be misleading, but can't see anywhere where he's pulling up trees. Loaned from Forest Green to a more lowly non-league club in Torquay. The only stat that seems significant is he's 6ft 5" .saint jude wrote:Had a look at the players career thus far : started out with a number of obscure club sides in South West England before transferring to the League of Norway of all places. Not going to expect too much on this one based on his background. He's not here as a marquee signing, more of another project for TC. As someone pointed out on TWTD..... is this the 'white Nouble' ? We've had a major success with Mings, but we've had lots of these players drifting in and then drifting out of the club. Good luck to him nonetheless.

Even more important Mike, let's hope the move works well for the club otherwise it's a complete waste of time. I don't have any great expectation but I guess there are still golden nuggets to be found in the lower divisions, let's just hope we've found one of them.

Good to have that height back in the front line, hopefully proves to be a good move. My only concern is the fact that Forest Green Rovers loaned him out to Torquay......., if he struggles to get into the FGR side, then not sure what to expect. Give him a go though. Maybe he'll thrive on "possible" better delivery. That's "possible" better delivery.

Marko, last week everyone was saying why couldn't we sign Theo Robinson from Lincoln, Forest Green/Lincoln, much of a muchness.

Understood......, point I was making though was FGR loaned him out........ Lincoln haven't loaned out Robinson, they want to keep him. I watched the highlights; would love to see what Robinson could do in a Town shirt. Interested in the Keiffer lad due to being 6'5"...... he'll thrive on pinpoint crosses....., if they exist.

Robinson has been around the block and ended up at Lincoln, I don't ever see him getting a bigger club move now if im honest, I fail to see any sense in this Keiffer Moore signing either but they must see something in him.marko69 wrote:Understood......, point I was making though was FGR loaned him out........ Mike, I don't think everyone was wanting Theo Robinson. In fact, if they did it was tongue in cheek. We've seen giant-killing FA Cup heroes many times. They have their day in the spotlight then they go back to their day job and being a non-league footballer.bluemike wrote:Marko, last week everyone was saying why couldn't we sign Theo Robinson from Lincoln, Forest Green/Lincoln, much of a muchness.
If this lad is a gem.... it would be a master stroke. Just doesn't add up with his background that he's someone who's slipped through the net and he's a top class player in waiting. We'll wait and see. The main downside.... you get a player who'll never make it and he's added to the wage bill and stops youngsters coming through. I'll say no more.... I'd love another Jamey Vardey to come our way, but if he has that potential, Forest Green would be asking a sh*t load of money and not be loaning him out to Exeter.

My comments on Robinson were tongue in cheek also and as I said above I see no sense in this signing of Keiffer Moore but we will see.tangfastic wrote:Mike, I don't think everyone was wanting Theo Robinson. Well, 6'5" leaps to almost 8'5" at pace........ Just need Kay Nood Zin to plant a long throw onto his head.

Someone posted a short video of 5 of Keifer's goals on TWTD site. He looks half decent and can certainly head the ball. He does look more athletic and less gangly than Peter Crouch. Worth a look.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I think Rhodes is as good as Bamford, the boro move hasn't worked out for him though, has he even been given a proper chance? But absolutely no chance of him coming here, miles out of our price range, I'm guessing it will take 7 or 8m to get him. Can possibly see derby splashing that kind of cashshamm wrote:"The arrival of Bamford, who has spent five years at Chelsea, would allow Jordan Rhodes to leave Boro with a number of Championship clubs interested"

As long as he's not a bench warmer, and gets a chance to play. Nobody knows what you can do if you are kicking your heels. He needs at least 5 games on the trot to see if he is good enough or not

I don't see Chambers going after his outburst last week but I guess in football you never know. I don't see this guy as being a regular first teamer neither.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Suggests that MM's thinking about sticking with three at the back, with attacking wing backs. In which case Spence provides cover/competition for Emmanuel. Note he's only signed, initially, until season's end.

I don't see Moore playing ahead of any of our strikers to be honest. And when fit Didsy will be in there every time.

I take it youve not seen any of the last few games then cus it's becoming a bit of a myth this long ball thing as we have done very little of it compared to what we were doing.ashfordblue wrote:Just right height for micks long ball tactics,

I can definitely seeing Moore in the team with his height just to kick things up a. bit and he would give any defence a problem. As for McGoldrick - no worries. The sick note I'd be very fit.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
A pretty uninspiring January transfer window and no proper replacement for Daryl Murphy who appears at last to have kicked off his career at Newcastle United.
Will we see another new face or two before 31 Jan or should we fans forget about any serious intent.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
If passion, confidence and gratitude for being given another chance at this level count for anything, then Moore ticks all the boxes - and moor! You can feel his enthusiasm leaping out at you. When he gets his chance - which I think will be sooner rather than later - he'll be determined to justify MM's judgement and confidence in him. Sometimes individuals need to find the right environment to realise their full potential and progress. Hopefully he'll find that with us, given a fair chance.
MM quite right in advising him to avoid reading social media sites, and concentrate on emulating Mings, Kightly and Vardy.

better to have a hungry for success underdog than a pampered , over paid disinterested journeyman I think . The players are definately coachable IMO . If not , no loss money wise and move on.
