Re: January transfer window rumours.
I'll take Moore and Spence over a couple 30-something journeymen any day. Moore's heighth alone justifies a punt on the young lad, and Spence has proclaimed he's a very fit 26 year old. I am starting to feel better about things, especially with the 3-5-2 formation. Couple that with a few quick-youngsters in the team, and we could have a bit of a resurgence. Obviously I'm not a fan of MM, but admittedly he does seem to be finally making adjustments to his plan A...thank god!

I retract that statement, MM is as clueless as ever. And.....Ian Milne can f*ck off!number 9 wrote:I'll take Moore and Spence over a couple 30-something journeymen any day. All of our supporters are and rightly so, utterly disappointed in the past few results in both Championship and FA Cup, surely now is the time to spend decent money on a couple of quality players rather than half a dozen average players like we have done over the last few seasons and lets face it not got anywhere near where we want to be. We already have a decent squad capable of competing for a top six place but do lack the 2 or 3 higher quality players to do this.

Perhaps we should be asking who would want to come here after seeing that crap last night!
On a different note can any one say with hand on heart whether MM and TC have actually improved any player that have come here? Look at Sears and Ward for example going backwards in performance etc.

Exactly right jacko. I'd be amazed if we bring anyone in of real note.
If I'm honest at this moment in time, I c almost could give a flying one, if we never sign anyone. I'm fast becoming totally disinterested in this Club now after nearly 50 yrs of supporting them. It's not the Club I've grown up with. I have no affiliation with the owner, I have no idea what his real plans are. McCarthy is happy to bob along on a lucrative multi £million contract, not demanding anything of the owner. Why should the players care either?
Well now it's MY turn........ Stuff the f**king lot of them.

thanks for posting, and welcome to the forum.
It's not normally so depressed on here, but malaise seems to be creeping through the whole club at present

You won,t be the first person to knock it on the head...nor the last. Supporters are walking away from this corporate strangulation of our football club. Its over. There are players who should be sacked also along with McCarthy and Conner and even Milne for insulting us with a "stick with it plea". Besides carrying a water bucket and a pencil what does Conner actually do at this club ? Both Conner and McCarthy looked stone faced and at a loss because they could not motivate poor footballers into a fight. The players should of been fired up for this Lincoln game but probably Mick was too busy having a joke and a laugh with his pampered buddies and talking a load of b***ox !!!. Maybe a half time roasting by most managers would ignite some sort of fight in most teams....especially after that pathetic first half. Na..... not Ipswich. Out they trundled for the second half and died all over again. The only thing missing was a white flag.hallamblue wrote:Exactly right jacko. I'd be amazed if we bring anyone in of real note.

The more I've read today about yesterday's debacle, the more I'm really getting pissed off at Marcus Evans! I mean, how can he just sit there and subject the fans to his indifferent bull-sh*t! ME is destroying our club, and the fans need to protest! Can someone organize some kind of headline-making protest to at least get Evan's attention?! I can't believe he's not saying or doing anything about the pile of sh*t we now find ourselves in! Come Evan's fuckin say something mate...and I don't mean your stupid 5-point plan. I've got a 1-point plan for you Marcus...it's my middle finger!

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I know Marcus Evans saved us from Administration and for that I will always be thankful, however if he has no interest in making our football club competitive and successful he should see his job as done and look for someone who would welcome the opportunity to buy into a football club with a decent infastructure and a good potential fan base.
For a long time now I've been calling for a change of ownership but this can only happen if Marcus Evans chooses to makes it happen.
Maybe he needs to be encouraged.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Obviously Evans was perhaps misguided enough to think that he could make a fortune off the back of this club without putting any effort in to it. Leaving it all to be managed by someone else is a big risk. Is it sheer bad luck or coincidence he has had three managers to sort out and now a 4th ? Evans now has to change his method of ownership completely and learn the football industry by getting involved more with the day to day running of ITFC. Start by getting a younger manager in and deliver a clear directive. No more pussyfooting about down south and phoning the bat-cave occasionally. Evans has to get that trust back and convince the fans he is with us all the way. He must work more closely with what is going on @ Portman Road and listen to the supporters. To ignore that could be crucial. Evans has to be down at the club a lot more to kick arse. it is far too cosy which is evident in the pathetic team performances. Forget the nice smiles and nodding heads, get a young hungry management team in and lets start again with a better squad. Young footballers with ability who can battle like Lincoln.
The wealth of this club had already been manipulated well before Evans got here. Perhaps Sheepshanks should come back and HELP put things right again ? It appears Mr Evans is now in a big hole and struggling to think of a plan to get out of it. Investing anymore time in the McCarthy/Conner comedy duo is only going to make matters worse. Employing people like Clegg and Ian Milne ain,t much help either. Evans has to stop relying on these super managers with a long CV. He could be having the wool pulled over his eyes.
He could easily get a good football manager and a sidekick for a quarter of the McCarthy/Conner wage packet and hopefully still have a young team eager enough to play energetic attacking football with skill. I am sure the fans would buy in to that if they could see that everyone was rowing in the same direction and trying to achieve.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I'd be more than happy for Marcus Evans to stay as owner so long as he started showing more personal interest and involvement with the football club and showed signs of having ambition and hunger for success. I have no doubt he can afford to own the football club however without Investment ITFC will be going nowhere. He also needs to be prepared to be more hands on and willing to bite the bullet when the manager isn't doing his job. These jobs can't easily be delegated especially to people without executive football management experience.

No. For me he's had his time and just want rid of the individual. Ten years of ownership and what the f*ck have we in return for those years of "control"Charnwood wrote:I'd be more than happy for Marcus Evans to stay as owner so long as he started showing more personal interest and involvement with the football club and showed signs of having ambition and hunger for success. Roy Keane ? Paul Jewell ? One play-off opportunity ? Not to mention the beaut McCarthy himself.
Just shows a complete apathy to our "intended progress" So what if he made us stable when first taking over ? What as in, McCarthy is worth holding on to because of that top six finish ? I look at all other aspects of the names that have held us back in the last 10 years and not giving recognition to anyone, as they, for the most part, simply don't deserve it.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Just count up the freeloading footballers that have walked through that door in the last ten years. Many of them offered nothing , many were only there because of a friendship with the manager. A well known trait in football is to employ your old mates for a final pay packet. Other managers do it too.saint jude wrote:No. For me he's had his time and just want rid of the individual. The only strategy Marcus Evans now needs is to employ a football "over-lord" to help clear this easy-peezy cosy culture out of Portman Road. For too many years there have been poor footballers walking through that revolving door. Grabbing an easy pay packet. Destroying the supporters faith and the finances of this club. Who do you blame ? It has to be the manager.Players come and players go. Thanks for the contract. Thank you very much. No other industry would you get away with that so easily. See how long you would get on my building site if you were "blagging it".

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I agree, Marcus Evans needs to look at MM, we need a manager who can get the best out of the squad and to re-inject some passion and hunger to push up the league. Look at last week Lincoln had it and it showed all over the park, the team need some confidence in our forwards to do the business, yes we have 6 strikers already but we need a clear out and two quality strikers with passion this would give the squad some belief that they are a top six team.

There's a young kid 17 playing for AFC Sudbury. Ipswich have had him on trial for a couple of games his name is Tyler French. Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday are also interested in him

This Steven Taylor link. On the surface a former PL defender who's only 30.
However, he's been released by his MLS club by mutual agreement after 9 games and was described as being very 'shaky' . The last 3 seasons for NUFC he managed 10 games per season .
Reading between the lines he's an 'old' 30 year injury-prone one club player who's homesick for Newcastle.
Not exactly excited by our two other signings, but prefer them to Taylor.
Must be other younger CB's in the lower leagues. We don't necassarily need another Webster, but a younger, hungry, fit CB would be fine.

We're completing the signing on Monday of a Leeds midfielder who's currently out of favour there, on loan ( naturally) until end of season .... Toumani Diagouraga.

Viewed their Square Ball fansite and it says "expected" to go ahead. Loan offer naturally.hallamblue wrote:We're completing the signing on Monday of a Leeds midfielder who's currently out of favour there, on loan ( naturally) until end of season .... Toumani Diagouraga.
They mention this is a player that will fit in well with McCarthy's game plan. Not sure whether to take heart from that or be concerned. They're obviously loaning him out for a reason, last look Leeds were actually challenging the promotion places, so if he's surplus at the moment then seems they've got more capable players or he hasn't fulfilled his job expectancies at Elland Road.

Well this is obviously bullshit straight away. There is no f**king plan. Either that or he's a League One rated player and Micks "plan" is to take the club ..............saint jude wrote:They mention this is a player that will fit in well with McCarthy's game plan.
But hopefully Toumani Diahorrea fits in nicely with all the other Shyte at the club.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Diagouraga was actually a decent player at Brentford but again very defence minded and seems to have slipped off the radar lately so god knows what he can bring to the table.
