TWTD understands Wolves are weighing up a move for Town’s Danish international left-back Jonas Knudsen.
The 24-year-old joined the Blues from his hometown club Esbjerg fB in the summer of 2015 for a fee of around £350,000 and since then has been a regular in the side.
However, Myles Kenlock, 20, began to push him for his place during the second half of last season and the academy product will be looking to establish himself as Mick McCarthy’s first-choice left full-back during the season ahead.
Capped twice at full level by Denmark, Knudsen, who also operated on the left of a back three during 2016/17, has a year left on his contract, with Town having an option to keep him for a further season.
Speaking at the first day of pre-season training on Monday, ahead of the signings of midfielders Emyr Huws and Tom Adeyemi, Blues boss McCarthy said players would have to leave prior to too many more coming in.
“We’re going to have to lose some before we go around signing too many others,” he said.
In May TWTD reported that striker Brett Pitman and midfielder Kevin Bru have been told they can leave if they find themselves new clubs.
Please let this happen, would be even more positive news.

Surprising but, if true and we at least double our money and find a replacement, not at all bad news!

Struggling to find anything positive to say about Knudsen here. I've started this post about three times. But, nope, he's sh*t,....., I'm hoping it happens also. And I apologise for that, Wolfie.

Yes; whoever's first choice LB we'll need two of the buggers! Not sure Kenlock's ready yet to go a full, long and hard, season - but he's a better all round LB than JK. He did better when playing emergency CH!

Would be even better if they put a bid for Skuse.

I still have reservations about Kenlock but wouldn't be sorry to see JK leave. Maybe we would have to stop Emmanuel going on loan to provide some fullback cover?

I'd be surprised if Knudsen leaves unless it's silly money. MM has always spoke highly of the young Dane, for some strange reason. Maybe MM is still molding Knudsen into a great LB/CB? I won't hold my breath on that.

Can't take this seriously.
Can't believe a club would spend decent money on Knudsen - but also he's well thought of by MM.
I expect Knudsen to be first-choice LB for Town at the start of the season.
If he does leave - it would feel like a 'new' signing for us

Wouldn't put too much store into MM's high regard for Knudsen. In the past he's been very quick to lavish public praise on individuals who supporters have taken agin, or whom have clearly been playing sh*t, then quietly eased them out of the door! Remember 'different class' Tabby and poor old Douglas; whilst both Pitman and Bru have been told they can leave. In the unlikely event of a decent offer for JK materialising, then off he'd go. We live in hope!
