Re: Rumor Mill 2017/18
what do people think to this suggestion?
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/ipswi ... tman-road/
And for Hallam
......................................................
Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy must add goals to his side this summer if they are to progress up the Championship table, and needs to bring additional quality and depth to his forward line in the coming weeks.
The Tractor Boys managed just 48 goals in the league last season which restricted them to a disappointing 16th place finish, and fans will hope that McCarthy will work hard to bring fresh talent to the squad before the season kicks off next month.
One player McCarthy should consider as a wildcard is Stoke striker Julien Ngoy, with the Belgian youngster building a reputation for himself at the Britannia as one for the future.
The 19-year-old joined the Stoke academy following spells with Anderlecht and Club Brugge, and made five substitute appearances for the Potters last season.
Ngoy already has a Belgian U21 cap to his name, and a successful spell in the Championship would enhance his credentials for further call ups to Belgium’s youth set up.
The player has the potential to consistently find the net at Portman Road, and could be a welcome surprise to the club.
McCarthy must begin to think outside the box if he is to remain in his role as Ipswich manager, and the addition of Ngoy could be the spark they need to really kick on.
Ngoy is unproven and a massive wildcard, but so was a 19-year-old Tammy Abraham when he went to Bristol City last summer, and look what happened there.

this story has been doing the rounds at the Mol....... ( http://www.the-wolf.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=69858 )
Jon Dadi Bodvarsson is now thought to be of interest to Ipswich Town.
The Icelandic striker is being given an extended summer break by Wolves following almost two years of football without a rest.
However, Ipswich are thought to be keen on the towering striker, although Wolves fans would most likely disapprove of any decision to let the fan-favourite leave.

Re: Rumor Mill 2017/18
Bodvarsson and Cummings would take it to 7 signings, reading some Wolves fans comments suggests we are getting a better player than I realised, very hard working, something pitman isn't, sounds like he wasn't played much or in his best position.
Cummings would be a decent addition and adds competition to the RB spot meaning no Chambers there !! Quite happy if this comes off too.

Re: Rumor Mill 2017/18
This is for me a very good signing, especially if it with a view to a permanent move, 2 very good RB's at the club and Emmanuel gaining valuable experience, it also ends any chance of Chambo playing at RB.

Another good decision which I don't think too many people will disagree with. Saves tying up money on wages

Re: Rumor Mill 2017/18
Ssupect the signing of the Wolves lad has something to do with this outcome for Taylor.
Also I think it keeps wages money free for a good striker and allows ME to push the boat out a bit ( yer I laughed too !) to secure a decent striker . This surely has to be the last piece in the jigsaw?

Yes Liz definitely the last piece of the jigsaw but a very important piece. Some fans would like to see another wide player too and while it would be a bonus I don't see it as crucial, we have Celina, Rowe and Ward and while we don't want square pegs in Round holes Teddy Bishop can and has played wide in the past not to mention Sears God forbid

Someone on twtd has said Daryl Murphy is joining Forest for £2m . Blimey he's , what? 34/35 yrs old now. Just shows how mad the market is now.

As we lost out on Bodvarsson right at the death I am expecting us to have to wait a little bit longer than we would like and not just go in gung ho and panic buy, we need to get the right man in, as long as he is here before the big kick off that will do for me.

according to Mick, Wolves got £3 million for Bodvarsson, who had nearly agreed to join us on loan.
Ah well them's the breaks

Re: Rumor Mill 2017/18
The market is absolutely crazy in terms of fees being obtained. £6m for Jerome being the latest example !
Town are operating almost at League One financial levels these days, and a lot depends on clever wheeling / dealing by ME/ Mick. It's not easy is it .
