Great result and well deserved, so glad i was wrong, Sterling was fab, Shaw hand in 2 goals had fab second half, kane finally came to life and that could be massive for England in the next games, Stones too superb at the back and Grealish showed why he has to be on.

For me Southgate got his tactics absolutely spot on. An experienced starting eleven that made sure we didn’t go behind and kept a clean sheet. Played Raheem Sterling who many thought was a passenger. A substitution that unlocked the game and added pace to the team. Kept faith in Harry Kane knowing he only needed a single chance. Brought on Hendo late on to see us through the final stages.

Next challenge will be to raise our game v Sweden or Ukraine and not do what France did against Switzerland cos there will still be challenges.

A massive chance for England to go on and win this for the first time.

A great night for English football. Never in doubt.

We lost to Ukraine in 2009 in the Group Stages of the World Cup and to Sweden in an International Friendly in 2012, that should be enough recent history not to be complacent. No better way to enter the QF’s than with momentum and we should have plenty of that.
