Well that’s how I’m looking at it too! The boys got enough experience at higher levels, and I’m sure KM sees something in him. Loans don’t always work out, but I’m willing to give him a chance.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Yep, echoed 100% ….. got to trust KM’s judgement. I may have slightly more faith in his judgement due to him maybe seeing what I personally see in Freddie Ladapo, (which is very little at Champ level) ….. so perhaps happier to accept, and trust what he’s doing.
Having said that……., i may have opted for Freddie over Jackson to start the last couple games.

I’d be surprised if he did opt for Celtic VR…valleyroad wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 9:34 pmAmazed the old firm up here didn't take him when he was in Scotland first time. Hopefully McKenna will have already talked to him about a new contract offer to keep him at Portman Road.

Unless they are viewing him as backup. Still think he would sign for Celtic

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
I love this new Sarmiento loan. We are entering into the second half of what we hope will be a promotion season. We need to set new challenges for teams that have already played us now and freshen things up. I think he's here to play regularly.
Happy that we have the money to adopt this approach.

Still not convinced about this loan signing but good luck to the lad whilst with us. Sounds very similar to Hutchinson in that there is no doubt he has the skill and ability to beat players but a lack of consistency in the final third has been a problem with him.
The other thing that does appear to be a concern is his injury record which for such a young player seems to have been a problem in the past. Now onto finding a replacement for Hirst which is go to be no easy task.

Can see nothing but positives in this deal. Think he’s a bit more battle hardened than Hutchinson - who’s got loads of potential but, like others out there, lacks experience and consistency. Time will tell!
At a tangent, keep seeing reports that both C Palace and more recently Brighton, are viewing KM as their next manager…….

I read some WBA fans comments, most are fairly positive but he does sound very similar to Omari, i.e tricky/talented but a bit raw.herforder wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 10:34 amCan see nothing but positives in this deal. Re KM, I highly doubt he would go to Palace but could certainly see him at Brighton, however their own manager would need to move on - he is doing well so it's more of a worry if and when that part happens - he probably needs more time to prove himself before a bigger club goes for him.

Looks better than Hutchinson and has premier league experience too, Hutchinson has started to look a little bit lost at times, final ball and decision making etc.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Reading WBA quotes they mainly say he is a tricky player who can beat a man but lacks a bit of final ball & decision making.....
Time will tell

Striker is VITAL. As others said above- maybe Rooney leaving opens the door for Stansfield, especially as he knows he will get alot more game time now Hirst is injured.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
With KM's record so far on improving players, this must surely be Brighton's goal in recalling him from WBA and loaning him to Ipswich. It could be a very clever move on both sides!
I believe it's no secret that KM has used videos of the style Brighton play as a model for how he wants his team to play! It's a win win for both teams as I believe he will learn to play the Ipswich way and then have little trouble slotting into the Brighton team when he eventually returns.
As a slight side step; it appears that Sarmiento plays as a left sided winger who would compete with Broadhead for that role! However, how do people feel about Broadhead playing the striker role? An Everton work colleague tells me he played as a striker for their U18 side! Before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm not suggesting he is a Hirst replacement as we definitely need some more muscle up front. However, I think I'd have more faith in NB playing up front as opposed to Jackson, who for me is no more a lone striker than I am!!

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
As it stands Broadhead is probably our best striker option, agree that Jackson isn't that man, Chaplin too small, Freddie seems to be by the exit etc.
Agree with Mike that 2 strikers seem required.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Think Broadhead did actually play as a striker at times during his time with Sunderland. Can see him being used as a temporary stop gap but agree with others that we need to get 2 strikers in to see us through until the end of the season.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Broadhead would certainly score more goals than Hirst but probably contribute a lot less in other areas as tends to be lazy and often drifts out of games for long periods, he's also pretty lightweight too, personally I'd rather a new striker in with Broadhead staying in his current role behind the frontman.

Looks like Finn Azaz ius being recalled from Plymouth and sold to Boro for £2m. Decent player who we know fairly well.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Assuming KM doesn’t change one up front set—up (unlikely), and therefore the way we play, finding a similar-to-Hurst replacement must be highest priority. Strength, playing with back to goal, good in the air and with some pace…….all for sensible money, or loan deal, presents a real challenge in a Jan transfer window. See that Cardiff appear to be interested in re-signing Kieffer Moore. Could he do a job here?

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
No harm to have two skillfull play on the field at one time. If it means we can get the ball in to the final Third at pace,, and space will be there for our strikers to shoot....another fox in the box and CD ..we will be ready for promotion push

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
I get your point but there have been plenty of PL appointments with not a lot of experience. Lampard etc, jeez Rooney was being quoted for Everton at one point. I think he is ready and wouldn't be surprised if the likes of CP and Brighton are looking at him. He has worked under Mourinho who is top drawer and would have learned a huge amount from him also.shabba wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 10:46 amI read some WBA fans comments, most are fairly positive but he does sound very similar to Omari, i.e tricky/talented but a bit raw.herforder wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 10:34 amCan see nothing but positives in this deal. Also I wouldn't underestimate CP as a club, their whole structure is superb and they are established PL club. KM may see it as a stepping stone.
I would 100% expect Town to have plans in place for this situation.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
CP would want him, I don't think he would go there if we get promoted though.
Brighton is a 100% fit and he would be a high favorite if they lost their manager.
