Re: World Cup 2022?!
They’d have been playing til half 3 in the morning, it’d still end 0-0.
I reckon Argentina regroup, re-access….. and absolutely smash Mexico & Poland.

Re: World Cup 2022?!
I think the time has come for football to follow the basketball example of stopping the clock wherever the ball goes out of play. Restart the clock when the throw in, goal kick, free kick is actually taken. Time wasting would no longer exist. You could probably reduce each half to 35 minutes (as I doubt if the ball is in play for that length of time anyway). So pretending to have cramp or an injury, making late substitutions, taking 5 minutes over a goal kick all cease to be a time wasting problem.

In a complete change of events……… VAR (or FARCE) has become the entertaining part of the World Cup.
Palms facing down, shaking hands “Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh” tv screen charade…… ITS A PEN! WOO HOO……
Yep……. Thats the exciting bit so far

Re: World Cup 2022?!
As soon as Argentina (somehow) endured a loss to Saudi Arabia, and two or three goals ruled out with it, further interest in this sh*t continued on a downward spiral. The VAR issue seems, or is, causing considerable unrest and holding things back and making a mess out there once again. It's a shame many will insist they ever implemented the f**king thing but some seem to be in favor of it.
France look a good bet to retain the trophy and Germans holding on to a slim advantage over a nation they should really be creaming. Maybe the underdogs or unfancied teams are really digging in and making a fight of it but it'll spoil (considerably) the latter stages of competition if the heavyweights aren't there or not participating. Japan score against Germans and pull level of all things, too many upsets or irregular scores for some liking. Neutrals will salivating like rabid dogs but it's not a scenario for everyone.

2-0 after 20 minutes.
A goal every 10 minutes? Could be interesting if the duration is as long as England's game!

Re: World Cup 2022?!
Well that was a real world cup showcase first half!
I have preferred not to get involved with the politics of this tournament in Qatar, concentrating on enjoying the football when I get the chance to watch a match.
So far I have watched one & a half games and seen 11 goals! There have been an array of shocks, yes, some dull 0-0 games, but solely from a footballing point of view I am enjoying it!
That first half saw Spain in scintillating form, they were toying with their opponents, passing with such accuracy that Costa Rica couldn't get near them, in fact whenever they did the ball was already with the next Spanish player!
Costa Rica have been played off the park so far!

Re: World Cup 2022?!
Spain 7-0 winners and a scoreline which doesn't flatter them at all! Spain's keeper could have stayed at the team's hotel!
So 15 goals in two games watched, that's entertainment if it's goals you're after!

Re: World Cup 2022?!
Can only hope Ronaldo heads to his Chapel and prays for forgiveness for that dive.
He’s got the audacity to point at the sky as well.
His dad is giving it, “Ronnie, Ronnie, Ronnie tut tut tut, , you STILL cheating?”

Maybe even add a few words for Ally McCoist. Forgive him for talking utter nonsense.
