I would have rather kept Baggott but hopefully he will get plenty of game time at Blackpool as for Edwards I would rather we have sold him than sent him on loan to Oxford

I would rather have been born handsome, filthy rich, and with a 12 inch willy - but we all have to play with the cards we are dealtCabanas Blue wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 12:17 pmI would have rather kept Baggott but hopefully he will get plenty of game time at Blackpool as for Edwards I would rather we have sold him than sent him on loan to Oxford

It will be a big shock if any CB leaves without another coming in.

Would it cheer you up if I changed your user name to ‘Dirk Diggler’?

Striker I'm ok with, we have 4-5 OK enough options there now.
CB........more worried.

Re: Transfer Rumours
It's a very similar philosophy to last year, it worked, but feel we are not going to bang them in like last season.
I am hoping we do bring in a CB, this transfer window would never live up to our previous anyway, but there is still time.
Mind you its Friday afternoon, KM & MA are probably in the boozer sinking a few lager-tops thinking f'it, it will be ok lol.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Burgess, Edmundson & Woolfie is desperately thin cover for the CB coverage and if one gets an injury we have no cover at all other than Baggott who is light on experience. I’m surprised the Club have allowed this to happen which could come back to haunt us.

Let’s hold that judgement tonight after the window ‘slams shut’.Charnwood wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 4:43 pmBurgess, Edmundson & Woolfie is desperately thin cover for the CB coverage and if one gets an injury we have no cover at all other than Baggott who is light on experience. Still time for the Sergio Ramos announcement.

I agree. I’ve said many times before that you get promoted by attacking. Once promoted you must strengthen the defence.

Doesn’t look like we’re getting one does it. What have we actually achieved this window then? X2 youngsters and that’s it.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Maybe we’re simply working on the premise that if we concede 2 we just need to make sure we score 3.
Maybe we just develop the team to play a 3 - 4 - 3 formation with all guns blazing.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Also, maybe in the back of McKenna's mind is the fact Donacien Clarke and Ball can both play CB too, I don't like it but it's possible.

Maybe defender coming in on loan. Aren’t these done after window closes?

Re: Transfer Rumours
Feeling edgy, but not overly concerned yet! There's still 5 hours of dealing to be done and I believe that the 'one in one out' mantra will prove to be the case! I am sure a lot of the better deals are completed at the final hour! Wasn't Morsy a very late incoming?
Who the potential outgoing will be is an interesting one. A lot depending on the quality of who may come in.
As far as a signing goes, I'm going for a Premier League defender who may be surplus to requirements when the team they play for gets their new signing in.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Mckenna said something like we can expect one player in today, one out. We're not going to be up to much if that's the deal but other than Edwards taking off for Oxford can't see much else by way of activity. Just don't possess the time to wait around and see what's coming in, believe this damn window thing closes later today although bottom line being we're just not engaging in activity that many deem suitable or reflecting of ambition.
Pity is there's a whole list of targets out there one could indulge in but they're either not available, we haven't investigated their ability, they wouldn't come here or they get snapped up by clubs elsewhere. Delete as appropriate. We DO require change in certain section of the team, but if they're not going ahead or working to effect then not sure what to feasibly expect. Hope the club can procure further deals with time remaining.
