Leeds are a one off .and so is Leicester ..no other teams will possess as much fire power and pace as them..so rest of clubs we have that more pace quality and firepower to hurt them ..so really we not looking for any extraordinary players..jst ones with championship experience and good work ethic and give their all

Hirst had zero service at Leeds, little wonder he had an “ off day”really. He’s improving gradually though.

But our sieve of a defence remains the single biggest problem . It has been a problem for 3 seasons and had been masked by our ability to score goals. Stop scoring goals and our defensive woes are there for all to see. That should be the target area for strengthening this window. Yes we need another striker too, but CB’s and a strong right back are required.

McKenna’s ethos is to attack , but we also need to be able to defend. Even sh it teams like sc um were able to pick us off on the break.

Tonight was a stark reminder we badly need cover/competition for Hirst. That’s VITAL in Jan.

You could look at another way. With all the above mentioned, we probably are about to secure another striker ( or two?)….
But pray to god we don’t overlook defence . We’re crying out for decent defenders!

Portsmouth interested in Edmondson according to TWTD, with Baggott away its unlikely unless we get someone in.

Unless we bring in a top CB I wouldn’t, he is settled here and knows the tactics etc, not making a fuss about not playing etc,

I agree with Mike, let him go, least we can prepare another replacement during the window.

I can see a few comings and goings, we def need firepower for a push on the top two positions.

Looking forward to this window and hopefully some decent additions.

That underlined part in bold; where does that type of info come from? Genuinely asking. Do you know "behind the scenes" news? A mole in the camp so to speak?

You’d usually hear agent making noise etc if a player was really unhappy.

Not flush with 1st team defenders, transfer activity constrained by the hideously named ‘Fair Play Rules, means that letting Edmonson go would only make sense if we can bring in a quality replacement?

Don’t think we can realistically expect a slack handful of new faces in Jan - probably 3 tops. Can live with that providing they enhance squad’s overall quality going forward. Certainly last night’s display highlighted some individuals’ limitations. Although, to be fair, some have not seen much combat.

I wonder if we might recall Corrie Ndaba if that's possible, he has done very well at Kilmarnock, I believe he's been playing mostly left back though.

I'd say no to that Cabanas. Killie currently 1-0 down at home to Dundee......, they've made 3 changes and Nbada still on the bench.

Not good enough for Kilmarnock today? --->> a million times not good enough for Ipswich Town

I have to agree after reading how well he was doing a while ago I now see he has only played 9 times and at 24 years he should have done better by now.

Marco: there's strong talk that we are looking at Lawrence Shankland of Hearts he's supposed to be a very nifty goal scorer 5 in 6 games What is your verdict could he cut it in the championship???

Where is this strong talk, Ash? Not read or heard any of that. I've heard talk just today on Sportsound Scotland that the Sevco might go for him in the January window. No doubt he's a decent player and he could do well in England, but really cannot see that happening. Also the Jambos want to slap a 3-5 million price tag on him.

And also....., ex jambos at Portman Road......, Berra etc etc> --- >> not good

I still think that Jay Stansfield of Fulham will be here within a week positive talks are ongoing, and also were looking and very interested in 19-year-old Josh Stokes a prolific midfielder who plays for Aldershot Town formally with AFC Sudbury, certainly one for the future, also versatile Man Utd Amad Diallio would be an excellent signing. We are also looking at Wolves RB Lembikisa currently on loan at Rotherham, we are weak in the RB position and could do with a better player than Clarke, and Williams's inconsistency doesn't help. so let's see who Keiran brings in, it's a top priority to at least sign two strikers if we are to make a serious push for promotion this season

No Marco it's just something I've seen in an internet sports column, I don't think the jambo's will get any serious millions for him, we will just have to see what happens,

If Ipswich can find a BETTER player than Clarke in that position in this window --->> then that would be incredible. From what I have witnessed (which granted is very little)...., the times Clarke is caught, its mostly when he's trying to do two jobs. Because someone else screwed up doing theirs. Ipswich have a very good player in Clarke....., plays for the jersey.

No neither do I....., but depends on how desperate the blue side of Glasgow are. He can put the ball away in the SPL with ease, and the Hertz will want £3M at least. If it happens, won't be for less.

Diallio on as a sub for Man U v NF, following lengthy spell out injured. Agree, though, would be a good bet. Would happily send Williams back if it made such a move more likely. KM’s connections might help!
