We need to strengthen, that is obvious, let's not lose sight of the fact Omari and Sarmiento don't strengthen us, we had them already.

I recall Ashton saying we are continuing to build for the here and now, and the future. So when a young talent becomes available or is identified we act…. I suspect IF the rumour has credibility it’d be in the “ one for the future” category and not the PL final 25squad….

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Thats because you missed the point. I didn’t say the guy would be a “first teamer”……. I said, “yes, sign him, get him out on loan”shabba wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 8:31 pmI don't understand your point, if we sign this guy its like signing a youth player, i.e not a first teamer etc. It won't stop us signing first team player at a level we need.marko69 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 7:31 pmYes, and as previously mentioned, Andy Roberston at Liverpool, …… but they were surrounded by major talent.
Thinking if Ipswich Town FC want to consolidate EPL survival, got to be looking no lower than Championship players.
I mean ……. YES…… go get them, get them out on loan etc etc etc……. But hopefully a first team will come together in the next 5 or 6 weeks. Let Scotland winning the Euros get out the way first.
A national leaguge player is never going to command any sort of high fee.
My reference to the term “first team” meant ——>> hopefully we see what that first team is in the next few weeks……. After the euros.
You like to disagree with people eh shabbs?

That’s a very good point. I’d love to have Sarmiento back, especially on loan. I’ll never agree with spending loads of money on Omari…sorry thanks for the memories. I really want us to sign a strong & versatile striker, preferably a foreign player. I’m not too interested in available British players right now and they’re well overpriced anyway.

One could argue that at least with young players they should improve - i.e if you had a team of amazing 20 year olds and didn't sign anyone, vs a team of solid but peaked 30 year olds - then over a 3 year period the first option would be alot better choice.ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 9:06 pmThat’s a very good point. Hopefully I've explained it right, a young player can get better every season 'for free', i.e your team is better without having to make new signings.
Still - I would say Omari would just be one of many signings needed, we need to level up for sure in some positions. I do believe Omari is capable of playing Premier league football, and likely could be a very decent Premier league player in 2 years time.

Not transfer related:
I see TH has kept his job at Man Utd. Tbh if I was him I’d tell them to stick it. They’ve shown absolutely no respect to the man and frankly are a disgrace of a club.

Someone needs to go in there, bomb anyone with a bad attitude out (sucking up the cost of that), get rid of who you can etc but dont even let the bad ones near the club/1st team.ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 12:41 pmI think most of the fans wanted him to stay as well. Bring in a few really good leaders and standard setters, Henderson etc springs to mind, then some good youngsters/ones from the academy and just let that mature over time.

Well if it doesn't work out for Ten Hag thus time we can expect more Mckenna crap to resurface and next time it won't end so well.

As ITFC2024 says it’s a circus at that club, but with any doubt that’s where McKenna will end up at some point. And you’re right Mike, we’ll get this media circus until he does eventually leave us. I’ll give him one more season here, two at absolute best. I’ve resigned myself to that.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
The F.A. Cup games and eventual victory would have saved his as*. It were a real shame Coventry missed out at the semi final stage, was hoping for sure they would go on to win after turning it around, but United showed a certain level of resilience and focus to go on to win. Not only that they pulled star prize by overcoming MCFC at the final game stage when many thought it impossible or didn't give them a chance.
Guess after that Ten Haag could do no wrong for a while and reached something like hero status to the fans there. If they'd failed, if United had won nothing, he'd be out, vacated, fired, there's no two ways about it.
As an aside suppose McKenna were to ever take charge there. What they need is another League Championship to keep the club name in with company of the EPL elite - McKenna for all the good he's done here, just isn't a name to provide it. It's been like 10 years or more since MUFC won the league title, the years can only get further the longer they go without and truth seems McKenna isn't a candidate to change that statistic. They need to look higher or set sight on a more established, long term proven name if they hope to be League Champs once again.

No disrespect to Kieran, but as I said before it’s silly to even consider McKenna for the ManU job at this point in his career. TH is the right man for the job right now. You have to consider, ManU has been plagued with injuries. No manager can overcome that kind of duress. I’m not particularly a fan of TH, but he’s far more qualified to be their manager than Kieran McKenna.
Anyway, let’s move on. f*ck ManU!

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Until this years FA Cup Final I don’t think I realised how big a rebuilding job Ten Hag had done at MU and I guess it’s still worki in progress. With this in mind I also think it’s shrewd move by United to keep him on board and could save them a fortune not bringing in a new man who would want to start all over again.
I think United’s FA Cup winning team had at least 8 different players in the starting line up compared with the previous season and two of these were teenagers Garnacho and Mainoo who scored both of United’s goals. TH must take the credit for this especially against such a strong Manchester City team.

Yep, linked a while back - was at Millwall last season.
Probably an OK free transfer, add some squad depth and save some cash for the big transfers
*not that we would dare spend over £15m on a player.

yeah was linked a while back to, would make alot of sense, and no doubt his Welsh team mates here will be giving him good feedback about the club.
As always with Spurs, the fee/transfer negotiation will be the 'fun' part. i.e Mr Levy.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Random but I recon we only have 17 players, and I'd say a few of them are likely to move on like Walton, Harness, maybe Al-Hamdi (loan). Hladkey situation needs sorting too.
GK: Hladkey* Walton
RB: Axel Clarke
CB: Wolfie Edumdson
CB: Burges
LB: Davis
CM: Morsy
CM: Masimo Taylor
RW: Burns
AM: Chaplin
LW: Broadhead Harness
CF: Hirst Al-Hamadi
Youngsters you'd expect to go out on loan:
Slicker
Baggot
Humpreys
Players surely surplies to requreiments:
Ladapo
Ndaba
El Miz
Ahadme
I'd like to see:
GK: Hladkey* new GK
RB: Axel Clarke
CB: New CB Edumdson
CB: Burges Wolfie
LB: Davis new Backup lb
CM: Morsy Masimo
CM: new cm Taylor
RW: new RW Burns
AM: new AM Chaplin
LW: new LW Broadhead
CF: new CF Hirst Al-Hamadi
So 7 new signings, plus 2-3 more to add depth.

I don’t consider Taylor a Premier League player. Good report, but I think we need to spend money on defence and a striker. Maybe a bargain goalkeeper too. Yes and a quality CM to replace Taylor.

Taylor is fine as a backup though, I very much expect us to sign a new CM to parter Morsy.
Agree we probably need more spent in the defense, RB as well perhaps.
