Italian side Bologna have reportedly agreed terms with apparent Blues target Fotis Ioannidis.
Over the weekend, the Greek media revealed that Town had made a €22 million (£18.6 million) offer for the 24-year-old Panathinaikos striker, a bid which had been turned down by the Athens club.
Now, according to the Corriere Dello Sport, Bologna, fifth in Serie A last season, have agreed personal terms with the Greece international.
It’s reported that Bologna’s sporting director Marco Di Vaio and technical director Giovanni Sartori have negotiated a deal with Ioannidis’s agent Andres Niniadis, who had previously spent time at the club last week, regarding a four-year contract with an option for a fifth season.
No fee has yet been agreed with Panathinaikos, who are are understood to want €25 million (£21.1 million) for last season’s 23-goal frontman, although are keen to keep hold of him and have been in talks regarding a new deal.
Meanwhile, a report in A Bola in Portugal, where Sporting CP previously made an €18 million offer for Ioannidis, claims to outline the details of Town’s offer, which was apparently turned down due to being based on top-up clauses rather than straight cash.
It’s said that proposed deal was an initial €17.5 million (£14.8 million) plus a further €4.5 million (£3.8 million) in bonuses should they be triggered later on down the line.

Can't say I've ever heard of him but you know my thoughts on spending that amount on one player, it won't happen, of course I could be completely wrong and we do, we'll need to stay up if we go down that route though or the fan could be well and truly splattered.

To be honest Mike to get the quality of players we need I think we may have to spend bigger than we’d like to see but perhaps there will just be fewer of them. Initially I thought we’d spend £80-£90m but the more I read about FFP the more I think that figure might be much less. TBH when the first major signing happens we’ll probably get a feeling as to which ball park we ‘re playing in when it comes to size of transfer fee.

We also have to remember that KM is taking a sizeable chunk out of the pot which I guess is fair enough. I reckon we'll spend closer to 50-60 Million max and I think we need a good 7 or 8 additions so that is an average of 7.5 Million.

100m tv money, KM taking 5-6m, not a massive chunk as such.
I’d agree we will spend 50-80m, suspect 2-3 big price signings, 2-3 lower priced - probably from the championship and then 2-3 free agents/loans.

Yes but we certainly don't get the 100 million to spend on all the fun things like signings, there's numerous other outgoings that has to cover but KM's salary increase will almost certainly come from the signings pot.

Plus 3m prize money for every place we finish, increased sponsorship and commercial revenues, the big debt will be the wage bill though, but I’d still imagine we could spend upto 70-80m if we do it wisely

Back on topic. I’m guessing we’ll see a flurry of transfer activity in July. We’ll need to get players in for preseason training.

I hope so, I feel it might be tricky getting some targets in as we probably have a lot of competition. Would be so good if we can get 3-4 in before pre season begins fully.
I wonder when the pre season fixtures will get announced- I think it’s only the Fortuna one that’s scheduled at present.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
I rate this guy, Greaves & Rodon would do for me at CBIpswich manager Kieran McKenna has made Jacob Greaves his first-choice target to bolster his back line as he builds his squad for the Premier League, according to The Telegraph.
Greaves, 23, has been on Everton's list of potential centre-backs for the summer window but they face serious competition from newly-promoted Ipswich, who have kept McKenna at the club and will back him with signings.
Sean Dyche will look for a replacement should Jarrad Branthwaite leave Goodison Park, with Manchester United bidding for the England international.
Hull would like Greaves to stay at MKM Stadium after an excellent campaign where he played a huge role in them competing for a play-off place.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Bloody hell we must be serious, you may be correct on this Hallam, concerns me though, prior to last season his goal return was poor and last season a lot of them were penalties. Not enthusiastic on this tbh.Panathinaikos are reported to have turned down an improved €25 million (£21.1 million) offer from the Blues for striker Fotis Ioannidis.
On Monday, it was revealed that Town had made a €22 million (£18.6 million) offer for the Greek international frontman, which was rebuffed by the Athens club, apparently due to it being too heavily weighted towards top-ups rather than up front cash, reportedly an initial €17.5 million (£14.8 million) plus a further €4.5 million (£3.8 million) in bonuses triggered later on down the line.
Now, according to Sportime, the Blues have come back with a new offer worth €25 million (£21.1 million).
While Panathinaikos are keen to keep hold of the player and have held talks regarding a new deal, it’s said that the size of the new bid - which would apparently be a new Greek record - could be getting towards being enough to tempt owner Giannis Alafouzos, while the player would also take the interest very seriously.
Other clubs are also keen with a report in Italy yesterday claiming Bologna had agreed personal terms with Ioannidis after talks with his agent, but without having settled a fee with Panathinaikos.
French side Lille are reported to have made a €21 million (£17.7 million) offer earlier in the week, while Portuguese club Sporting CP had previously been the favourites to land the 11-times-capped Greek international.
Ioannidis was a youth player with Olympiacos Chalkida and Levadiakos before breaking into senior football with the latter late in 2018 and in August 2020, he joined Panathinaikos on a four-year deal.
Goals were hard to come by in his first three seasons with the Athens-based side, netting four, four and seven in the league in those campaigns.
Nevertheless, his form was good enough to see him win the first of his full caps, in which he has scored two goals, in 2022, having already played at U18, U19 and U21 levels.
Last season, Ioannidis, whose father Vasilios also played professionally in Greece, netted 23 times and picked up nine assists in all competitions, 15 in the league, seven in Europe, Panathinaikos having narrowly missed out on the group stage of the Champions League before entering the Europa League.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Have to say I agree with Mike on this one. Before last season his goal scoring record has hardly been prolific and as Mike says quite a few of his goals this past season have been from penalties. The other thing to take into account is how long it would take him to adjust to the Premier League. If we are paying that sort of money for a player, which let’s face it will roughly be a quarter of the 80 million budget some people think we have to spend on transfers we will need him to hit the ground running
Therefore, a no from me.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Championship new boys Oxford United are reported to be interested in signing Blues striker Ali Al-Hamadi on loan.
Al-Hamadi joined Town from AFC Wimbledon in January and scored four goals as he helped the Blues win promotion back to the Premier League, making one start and 13 sub appearances.
Town may well look to send the 22-year-old out on loan to gain first team experience in the season ahead and, according to Indonesian website BolaSport, Oxford United, one of whose co-owners, Erick Thohir, is Indonesian, are keen.
Oxford, who have former Blues Greg Leigh and Kyle Edwards in their squad, are back in the Championship having won promotion via the play-offs.
I think it would be a good move for him.

I also think that Loannidis is over priced that's taking to much of our transfer money, saying that I did like the YouTube video of him but they only show the best bits of the play but I like the fact that he also had 9 assists last season, move on to someone else I say.

I'll be disappointed if Al-Hamadi goes out on loan, I just think he has a lot to offer, but also a lot to learn.

I think Al-Hamadi is a long way off being useful in the Prem personally, and I'd rather see him loaned to League 1 to bang in 20 goals, than to the Championship and get 5 or 6 in a bit part season.
The Greek chap looks great, would be a huge upgrade on Hirst and a real handful, very good feet for a player of that power, if anything he needs to drop a bit of weight

I have a bad feeling about Fotis Ioannidis. If the reports are true, he doesn't seem to want to play for ITFC. 21-mil is a lot of money for an unproven striker in the Prem.

Why would you think that the reports are true? Lot's of conclusions being jumped to IMO. He won't go and play for anyone if he doesn't want to.
